In the works for a while after seeing the increase in disc golf at night and waivers being granted to attach bobber lights for both night play and when snow on the ground.

They are probably looking at the changing future and the possibility of GPS maybe?
That would be my guess

I think GPS or bluetooth tracking will be a novelty that might spark some initial interest, but will not end up being overly useful.

Embedded lights seem to be the much more practical application.

constructive reply: aside from GPS and lightup discs, i'd like to see a company produce a specific training disc that has accelerameters that can measure the forces applied to the disc during the throw. The tech could potentially tell you the speed at release, nose angle, hyzer angle, rotations per second, etc etc. I'd pay many monies for that.

non-constructive reply: they changed this rule but not the flex rule? uggg.

With this I would like to see a centered circle of light that is directed outwards at the rim creating a nice brightly lit rim and more than likely flight plate as well.

"embedded/inserted"

So, in theory you mold a disc that is thicker in the middle, put a compartment in there and then the owner can put in one of several inserts such as lights, a beeper, a sensor package (just look at what smartphones contain), a camera, ...

Cool.
