Default Best course in Ohio?

Hey everybody. I want to pick a course to play in Ohio. It can be anywhere because I can take a trip. I plan on playing two courses so I want to see what you guys think. If you have another course besides the ones listed in the poll, let me know what they are. Thanks a lot!

Arboretum-Spiker in the Canton area is probably my favorite Ohio course with Osage Grove in the Cincinnati area being a close second.

Since you're asking DGCR members, and this list* is the summation of past/current DGCR reviewers... it'll be interesting to see how things shake out. Let the fun begin!

1) Deis Hill Park Dover, OH
2) Handyman Ace Hardware DGC Fairborn , OH
3) Mt. Airy Forest Cincinnati, OH
4) Pike Lake State Park Bainbridge, OH
5) Forked Run State Park Reedsville, OH
6) Roscoe Ewing Park Medina, OH
7) Brent Hambrick Memorial DGC Columbus, OH
8) Flat Rocks DGC Lancaster, OH
9) Lincoln Park (Oak Ledges DGC) Massillon, OH
10) Arboretum-Spiker Park Canton, OH
11) Belmont Park Dayton, OH
12) Simsbury DGC Pickerington, OH
13) Gordon Holton Memorial DGC Delaware, OH
14) Paint Creek State Park Bainbridge, OH
15) Monroe Community Park Monroe, OH
16) Englewood MetroPark DGC Englewood, OH
17) Lake Shore Park Ashtabula, OH
18) Lobdell Reserve DGC Alexandria, OH
19) Recreation Park Bryan, OH
20) Sims Park Disc Golf Euclid, OH
21) Hocking College DGC Nelsonville, OH
22) Friends of Punderson DGC Newbury, OH
23) Portage Lakes DGC Akron, OH
24) Mary Rutan DGC Bellefontaine, OH
25) Sycamore Trails DGC Miamisburg, OH

Personally, I think # 20 is overrated, but I really liked 6, 7, and 13, and think 17 is underrated.
But I don't think I've played enough on OH to say how they should rank within the entire state.

The best course in Ohio is in Kentucky. Try Mt Airy, Osage Grove is supposed to be great and don't miss Idlewyld in Burlington Kentucky.

I've played 5 of those above, and Gordon Holton is my favorite. Lots of variety and beautiful in the fall.

I need to redo my review of Roscoe. I need to drop it down a bit. There was an unfortunate decision causing hole 8 and 9 to go away and to me, it messed up the flow and some how the charm of the course. There has been an obvious attempt to compensate, but it just feels different.

Maybe I am just overly sentimental though; since it was the first course I played, but I'm sure that played a part in how high I rated it to begin with so don't see where it would be a problem now.

I need to revisit the other ones again, but Arboretum Strikers seems like it should be further up on that list.

This x1000. Hit up the Cincy area and enjoy a couple top notch courses. I'm not sure what part of Ohio you're from, but most of the courses around Columbus are boring, and there's nothing at all in NW Ohio. I'm not sure about courses on NE Ohio. The terrain would lend itself to good courses, but I've got friends in Cleveland who don't like too many of the courses around them.

I'd probably go Osage if I had to choose just one. Mt. Airy, Handyman, Monroe are some great honorable mentions. I'm sure I could easily name off some other great courses. A big plus with Mt. Airy is the great pro shop as well as being close to Idlewild and Lincoln Ridge.
