Why does everybody seem to be discounting Climo's competition? Russell, Rico, Stokely, Barry? Do none of these men have any skill? Climo just took an evening stroll through Worlds for ten years?

I don't think McBeth has to win ten in a row to be the best, but I think people need to stop trivializing Climo's accomplishments.

My sources are telling me that those players let him win. #growthesport

Climo beat everyone in his era multiple times

The reason all of those great players seem insignificant is because they were never able to win mych because Climo didnt allow it

I could argue that Wysocki sucks using the same logic people use to say Climo had no competition

"You can't win because I want to!"
--Ken Climo

Not trolling. That was just the first thing that popped into my head when I read your post.

You could absolutely use the same logic against Ricky. McBeth has beat his same competition multiple times. It's how he's gotten to his three-peat.

Meant to ad this in the edit, but I actually had to work...

Paul seems like the type of guy who:
1) would be happy being compared to Climo
2) lets his game do the talking

I don't think he's Climo... yet, but there's no denying he's one a helluva roll. Scary to think we may not have seen his very best yet.

Try as we might, this can't be determined now, and certainly not on some interwebz forum.
It has to be settled on courses
... at World's
... over the next several years.

Until then, if you want to have fun debating, have at it, but there's no reson to get your panties bunched up over it. Let's just see how it plays out, and appreciate what you're getting to see as it does.

Nobody will ever know...the technology has changed, fitness has changed, schedules have changed, media pressure has changed. It's a fool's game. McBeth wouldn't have had the resources he has now in Climo's heyday, but would that have held him back? Who knows...
Not saying these answer the question by any stretch of the imagination, but they're still fun videos. Surprised they haven't made it onto this thread yet.

First of all, there is no GOAT unless people are claiming to see into the future.

Secondly, can we agree there are really two separate and distinct honors?
1. Greatest against their peers.
2. Greatest against the course.

Climo wins #1 hands-down, so far.
Paul wins #2, unless we begin to debate the merit of disc technology.
