Came across DGCR when looking for a map of the disc golf course closest to us, which is Floral Park, in Inverness FL. I have to say we have it lucky here 5 courses within 20 miles not bad for Sleepyville USA. Finally something really fun to do. From South FLA originaly. First played DG back in 2001 used to play with XHUB. Was still a total noob when I stopped so I know some basics but not much more. Now wanting to have a chill layback activity ( at least it always was when we played all day adventure but didn't mind the slow laid back vibe) too with my New Hubby and older kids they seem to really enjoy it. So my FIRST two questions are as follows:
I have one set of discs Innova brand putter, driver, mid. I am looking to purchase two more sets but want to expand to have a variety to try just as starter sets, so the question is
If there were two decent brands/models of each conservative in used price range what would be some good ones to expand with?
Also I noticed DGCR has a section where people sell could you tell me what exactly this listing info means and what is most important when looking for new discs?
How does the weighting work?
I am assuming the more grams shorter flight distance so heavier are putters lighter drivers

I'll wait till anyone responds before I bombard with too much info as this post is dragging butt as is. Thanks!
Hey BT. I think you will have more success starting a new thread. I think people tend to ignore this particular sticky.

Riggs here from Ohio, north of Cincinnati. I'm new to the DGCR but not new to Disc golf I have been a recreational player for 20yrs. Wow hard to believe I have been playing that long although the last 3 yrs I hardly played. Now Im back , playing 3 to 4 times a week and dug out my practice basket . Next year I plan on playing competitively.

Hello everyone,

my name is Josh, I'm from Germany, I've been playing for almost two years now, I’m RHBH/RHFH. Unfortunately in my region there are only two courses and these are both about an hour away. Therefore I played only 5 times on a course. But I am lucky that a few hundred meters away from my workplace there is a small park where I use my lunch breaks to improve my skills in disc golf. Last year I played my first two unsanctioned tournaments, to have a first small indicator of where I stand with my skills. I finished it with +6/+5, a bit better than half the competitors. That motivated me to get better.

I've been lurking for a while and have been able to take a lot of helpful things with me, especially from the Technique & Strategy forum. Recently, I came across a thread that has finally led to something like a breakthrough in my game. Which brings me to my question.

I wanted to share my experiences and decided to leave a post in that thread. Ok, it has become a bit extensive, but I am also really excited at the moment.

When I press the "Submit Reply" button I am forwarded with the, probably, usual message. After that I can't see where my post is, if it was approved or rejected. In the mini statistics there is still Total Posts 0. If I go to my profile, under Quotes I find the message "02:08 PM - Deleted Posts". I've tried this twice now. Is the post still in some kind of approval process or has it actually been deleted? If it has been deleted, how can I avoid this in the future and what can I do to get it accepted?

Thanks in advance, the forums are great! I think I can still learn a lot here.

It has been a long time since I posted anywhere in these forums, my name is Shawn and I'm from Wisconsin. There is only a few friends I have where I work at that are into disc golf as much as I am so it's nice to come here to read posts and learn new stuff about the sport. I have a lot to learn about the forums here and how to add to my profile and make more information about myself visible to visitors like throwing style, years playing and stuff like that. I look forward to posting any questions I might have about disc golf but by looking at all the new posts that have been made since my last I better read up first, it might have been discussed here already.

I started playing again at the beginning of this summer and got out about 5 times. I had stopped playing for a number of years to play soccer. Both my soccer "career" and ACL ended in July. I am now attempting a return to disc golf. It will be slow going and this forum has been a life saver on my long days of recovery. I'm hoping to return to competitive play in the spring. I took a bunch of pictures of my discs and posted them in my page here.

It is fun seeing how the discs, players and game have changed over the years of my absence.

Thank you all for the distraction!
