Default 2020 Olympics?

According to the Tokyo 2020 website, the World Flying Disc Federation has submitted all the forms, etc... to be underconsideration to have a sport it sanctions included in the 2020 games.

eh, lots of weird sports submit... doubt we have a shot vs any of these:

Baseball-Softball
Roller Sports
Sports Climbing
Squash
Wakeboarding
Wushu

Other sports which had been bidding to take part included tug of war, bridge, chess, sumo wrestling, billiards and orienteering.
* Bowling, squash and surfing make cut
* Tug of war, billiards, chess and sumo missed out!

The WFDF is no doubt requesting Ultimate for 2020, not disc golf (yet)

The WFDF was not on the shortlist published today of sports still under consideration.

From a compelling sports standpoint, Ultimate would be way better for the Olympics than disc golf. Hard truth, but it would be easier to work it in one of the arenas that gets built for the games and shows better on television. There is also much more of a current groundswell for mainstream coverage of Ultimate, with various leagues growing and a well-established culture in universities worldwide.

The National Senior Games is a recognized multi-sport organization of the United States Olympic Committee. More turnout at the disc golf events during National and State Senior Games would help get disc golf in the Olympics, I would think. If your state doesn't offer disc golf in the Senior Games, just contact them and offer to be the event coordinator.

Olympics? Meh.

Considering the last games were held in a country that just days after the closing ceremonies, annexed a piece of another country, I could care less whether disc golf ever gets in. We deserve better.

I think the 3020 Olympics are a more realistic possibility for disc golf
