Absolutely.

I felt it was very important that the new ED be someone with leadership and business experience but felt strongly that it should be someone who plays and understands the game as well.

This hit all the spots on my checklist.

Uh..not sure on this one. Doesn't appear that he has any real business marketing experience.

It would be interesting to know what the position pays. I imagine a low salary and that already eliminates a pool of qualified candidates.

You dont seem to have any reading experience.

Salary was posted. don't recall exactly, but 80-90K I think.

The salary was negotiable on experience, but minimum was 80K

That's a lot of headache for 80K. His resume seems good, hope he does well.

The pic in the article says then Lt Col, to me that indicates he might have been a full bird when he got out. Retirement pay at that rank is pretty good, in addition to the pdga salary.
