Starting a new course thread since the other thread has been dormant for too long and now dead.

The course pages are now open for reviews. FINALLY!!!!!! Hopefully people will review them based on the courses themselves and not the horrible tournaments that have been held there in the past.

Hmm, wonder if I'll review them from my April trip. Great courses, but the grooming was terrible when I was there. I'd feel pretty good about giving Texas Twist a 4.5 and Trey Deuce a 4.0, but need to think on it a bit. It'd be fun to be one of the first to review it.

If you haven't been out recently I would go again. They have continued to put in work on the courses and they look fantastic. The one thing they have working against them is the lack of foot traffic to help wear in the courses. The conditions from 4-5 months ago were from scrambling to get a course finished so Houck could attempt to cram way too many people into his tournament.

Trey Deuce would be the harder of the two to rate for me right now. TT is definitely a 4.5, awesome course type, but also not quite the transcendence of a 5 (though it's close, and perhaps closer if well-groomed). Being more open and longer, TD suffered more from the tall grass in my mind. Could be a 4.5 if perfect.

We'll see. I still need to catch up with my reviews from the June trip up north.

If Selah is still in operation in March for our annual trip, it will be a tough decision whether to spend one of our precious 3.5 days down at Trey. We're pretty spoiled by Selah, and would miss our carts and our house to crash in between rounds, oh and the no driving.

Y'alls' reviews/reports of Trey, especially as we get to 2015, will help us make that decision.

Heading there this weekend. Looking at the pro tees, I was shocked at how long they are. Anything wrong with playing a mixed set of tees?

Hi, Paul. Hope you have a great time at Trey.

To answer your question, I imagine people mix tees during their round. Just so you know, the Red tees are really designed for newer players, so an experienced player will find most of the par 4's to be in the "tweener" range -- too long to reach, and a decent drive should give you less than a full upshot. So if your goal is to be challenged, the Reds won't do it, but if anyone thinks it's more fun to go that way, they are free to have at it.

Please tell Diane and Waymon and Trey that I said hi.
