Default Question About Disciplinary Actions

Some of the people on this list seem mostly due to Outstanding fees. I also see Unsportsmanlike conduct and 1/5 year suspensions. But then I see near the bottom, "Scorecard Manipulation" with only 3 Month Suspension and 6 Month Probation. Doesn't that seem a little odd? Scorecard Manipulation would seem to be cheating at the most fundamental level of the game and it only warrants a 3 month suspension?

BTW, I think intentionally cheating on the scorecard should be permanent expulsion. But that's just me. Charlie won't want to ever see me at an event, because I'll make sure that everyone knows he is a cheater and needs to be babysat.

Does anyone have more details on his 'scorecard manipulation'? I don't know Charlie personally but I've met him and seeing that surprises me.

I agree with this. Id much rather play withthe annoying drunk guy who talks during your shots and is slowing everyone down to rip one off tothe side, but can refrain from cheating.

I hate both of those people though. Just one is a little less loathe worthy

I suspect that may have been someone who got called before the Disciplinary Committee for either dropping out to preserve their rating or tanking the round by taking 17 extra putts on the last hole so the round would be dropped from their rating. I think if the player was actually caught pencil whipping/cheating, it would use that word as the reason for suspension. We now have the new 888 rule to directly handle the ratings manipulation issue.

_mtl_ is on the disclipinary committee, perhaps he'll chime in on the lengths of suspensions

I don't know the person, nor the situation. I was just questioning the penalty for the offense.

It was for pencil whipping. He got caught twice in the same tournament. One of those times was by Michael Jo.
