Default First tournament tips?

I am brand new here to dgcoursereview and wanted to get involved more as I am really enjoying disc golf. First off I have never played a tournament before and will be in early sept. I am fairly new to disc golf in general and have been playing about a year. Are there any tips you guys have for a new player? Common noob mistakes? Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Familiarize yourself with the rules. You can read them online, pdga.com/rules or get a rulebook.

Be prepared for a slower pace and higher score. You likely will not shoot your best score on that course during tournament play. The added pressure of competitive play tends to add a few strokes. Shake it off when you make mistakes and just move on.

Enjoy it. Tournaments are a lot of fun and will get you even more hooked than you already are!

Bring water and snacks. Rain gear too (towels, umbrella, extra socks/shoes, change of clothes). Be overprepared, not underprepared. Bring extra discs too.

Tournaments are amazing, you get play with new faces and sometimes you get carded in the first round with real good players. Use the opportunity to learn from them - it's a great lesson. Pace yourself, and use all of the time you need to commit to each shot (without slowing down the group). Don't rush up to your disc and feel hurried. You PAID to be there - develop a routine and cadence before each shot. Most of us play best when relaxed, focused and happy. Good luck man!

This is huge IMO, you don't wanna lose extra strokes b/c you don't know the rules & where OB is ect. Also make sure you get in some putting practice & some LIGHT field work in before the tourney, it helps a lot.

Dont set expectations too high. Its your first tournament. Understand things are going to happen.

Rules and snacks are the 2 best suggestions here IMO also.

And definitely bring a mini marker.

Make sure you always mark you disc with your mini, even for tap in putts. Know most of the common rules of the game. Bring plenty of snacks and a chair since some courses can have backups on holes for 30+ minutes. Dont let one bad shot ruin your round...have fun.

Thanks for all the suggestions. You guys are awesome. I'm a pretty calm guy to begin with, but very competitive. So I think the mental part of it should be ok, hopefully. Now as far as a rulebook where can I get one? I started reading the one on the website, but it would be nice to have a physical one to carry in the bag. I have also been practicing as much as I can, maybe 4 times a week at my local course. I even bought a basket to improve my putting, plus it's great to have when my friends and myself go camping.
