For fun I just did a google search on "transgender lifestyle clubs". I won't get into details about the results, but I could see people (mistakenly or not) thinking of that as a "lifestyle".

"nornal" (fill in the normative behaviour) people have a "life", whereas those who divert from that norm are considered having a "lifestyle".
These ^^ perfectly capture the issues with the word 'lifestyle', in this context.

If we're all different, then we are the same. Nobody is unique if we're all unique. Why do words like "diversity," "equality," and "inclusion" even exist.

You can go ahead and submit that to the Fortune Cookie Writer's Guild, Halcón. Who knows? Maybe they'll use it.

You may think it's corny, but am I wrong?

You can agree or disagree with the author, and article. But he is clearly defining a lifestyle which is (or maybe was) different than a straight one (in his words).

This is an opinion piece.

And Quillette is biased to begin with.

I am trying to have a civil conversation but its next to impossible to keep up with what terms are forbidden. I am immediately met w/ backlash, calling me ignorant and that I am showing hatred (antipathy) for acknowledging and accepting that a transperson's "lifestyle" (oops, there I go again being hostile) is different than my own.

Do you always play the victim, or just on here?

There's got to be a connection here.

Depends, I reckon. Are you offering an opinion or presenting as fact? If you're trying to pass it off as fact, I'm going to need to see a peer reviewed paper that cites the studies used, please and thank you.

The statement that nobody is unique if everyone is unique is patently ridiculous. Words such as "diversity," "equality," and "inclusion" exist because they are useful terms that describe things. The Fortune Cookie Guild is offended.
