Default Max Distance Lines

On a hole that is completely open and longer than your max distance, what disc do you throw, what angle do you release your disc on, and what does the flight path of the disc look like? Also, it'd be interesting to know how far you're throwing on this line.

I was surprised when talking to a friend who throws max distance of around 430'. He throws a Champ Boss on a hyzer and he says his goal is for it to stay on a hyzer angle the entire time, and when it lands he usually gets about 50' extra feet from the skip. Lately, I've been trying different lines, but I've never even considered a full-on hyzer-bomb for max distance. My max distance is about 50 or so feet less than that and I've been using either a flat release that turns right a bit then fades back left, or getting a little more altitude under it and releasing with an anny that flattens out at the end.

thats a job for my 175 star wraith (if throwing at sea level). i release it with quite a bit of hyzer and snap it as hard as possible so it turns over for about half of its run. i aim low so i get a nice lil skipperoo when it fades at the end.

if the basket is pretty much straight ahead then ill throw a 167-169 champ starfire either level and let it kick over with oat or if its still kinda new ill give it a little anny. My plan would be for it to hit the ground right of the target then skip over back on line with the basket, id say it skips 20-30 feet but thats hard to tell when your 300+ft away. Really thats the same way id throw a hole that was straight ahead and right around my max d as well, just a real tight helix.

Now if it was way left of the tee id throw a big hyzer or if it was way right and out of range i might throw my beat to crap champ starfire and let it flip.

I am starting to get a feel for RHFH flex shots that need some space but man does it go. I still need to work on my forehand so for right now, I would either hyzer flip RHBH or RHBH Flex shot.

Why you gotta tie it to a disc like that man? It was all good, talking about the line but then you talk about this disc just going and I suddenly get this annoying little thing on my shoulder with an annoying little voice saying "Oooo, you should buy one of those..."

Kind of surprised I'm the first one to say this, but I usually get the most distance out of hyzer flips with stable to slightly understable discs. Usually a TL or an XS.

Hyzer flipping my wraith gives me the best distance. It's a lightly used dx wraith, and I throw it with a little hyzer. It slowly flips right, then comes back a little at the end, finishing pretty close to straight ahead, and usually between 350' and 375' out.

Lately, I've been using a R-Pro Boss, 150-160g. Release with just a little hyzer (5-10 degrees), it will flatten out and do a nice S shaped flight. About 360 avg, 385 max.

Typically hyzer-flipping my 172 Star Sidewinder! I also get it about 350-375' and about 30' high on flat ground. I can hyzer-flip my 153 R-Pro Boss a bit further to about 400' but its not nearly as consistent. Although I ripped my 170g Champ Teebird the other day over 400' on a 630' hole with a very slight hyzer and happened to be the last drive of the day. I was stoked and then got kicked out of the park for dark.
