Default Dynamic Discs Raider

https://youtu.be/pUyvRbTCNBM

I guess I am a little antsy for this release. I was under the impression it would be a little more (O)stable Trespass is the same speed (12), but not Enforcer stable.

Rusco reveals it in the video.

13 | 5 | -1 | 3

So, destroyer-esque. More manageable Defender, out of the box, maybe?

Anyway, if you find something out, post it!

Chris Goodrich did a video review. It does indeed look like a more manageable Defender. I'm a little disappointed, since I thought this was supposed to have basically a Trespass-sized rim.

I agree. The video is pretty good, though. It did confirm the raider has the 13 speed 2.3cm rim.

So it’s a beat defender out of the box (The video compares the raider and a slightly worn in bio defender). It looked like the defenders fade was still a little stronger.

Interesting disc; can see it competing with the overcrowded “Destroyer” spot in people’s bags.

Although I did just stick up in a few LX Trespasses, I may give this a try. Could see a Lucid Defender/Fuzion Raider distance combo working well.

Another video comparing the Raider to some Destroyers.

Guy throws a dozen Drstroyers and the one raider a couple times. Seems to fly similar.

This could actually be a good driver. I have no clue how well it'll sell considering they already have the Sheriff and Defender. The Raider is attempting to fill a very small gap between those two.

Add the Captain to the mix too.

^ That is a good point.

But, to keep making discs, gotta do something!

Looks like a disc I will love once my forehand friends start turning it too much.

A local L64 pro got a couple of these in and loves them. They're definitely looking like the closest Destroyer clone from Trilogy so far. Thrown flat and hard they have that true -1 turn, but no threat of turning over too much, then fade out. Right now he throws Ballista Pros and whichever of Defenders or Enforcers is more OS, and these will probably be replacing the Ballista Pros in his bag if I had to guess.

Raider 176.0 - 21.2 - 1.5 - 1.1 - 16.3 - 2.3 - 5.2 - 29.25 - 11.14

Approved 2/27

I’m not a spec connoisseur, but a couple takeaways: it’s a hair wider (21.2) than the usual driver in the category, still has the shallower depth (1.1), but is a 2.3 wing width. It’s also thin (1.5).

I am still intrigued, and will most likely acquire a couple to try.

If this came out a year ago I would have been super excited to try it. Or even last summer. But I've started really clicking with Ballistas, and am getting used to Ballista Pros when I want to step up in stability. I don't think learning another distance driver mold is in my best interest right now even though a "shallow Destroyer in Trilogy plastic" would have been a "must buy" for me last season.

Had this come out feeling like a Trespass, I may have pulled the trigger simply because I'm so used to throwing Trespasses. But with the slightly wider rim, this will feel like a new mold to me and I just don't know that it's what I'm looking for right now.
