Default Positive or negative reviews?

So I recently added and reviewed two new courses, Desert Dunes Disc Golf in the Desert of Maine, and Spaulding HS DGC. I found it interesting that my very negative, .5 disc rating review has been up for about 2 hours and has gotten 3 thumbs (meaning at least 3 people read it) versus my neutral, 2.5 rated review of Desert Dunes which has been up for over a week with no interest, despite the fact that it's an infinitely more interesting sounding course (pics will prove this in a while). So my question is this: Are you more likely to read a scathing, negative review (not a hate fest, an actual review) than a neutral or positive review? If so, what does that mean?

Off the front page, I peek at the disaster-level reviews, just to see the train-wreck. If it's a course I plan to play, I read all the recent reviews, and typically disregard the outlier extremes.

I mostly read reviews from courses I have heard of or have played. I also check out the ones from the paying members regardless of rating.

I do find the high and low rated ones to be the most interesting.

High and low. Other than that, courses I might go to soon. Also courses I know (have been to).

Giving 4.5 and 5.0 reviews, (and 0.0 and 0.5 reviews at the other end) draws attention. People want to see why said course is especially good or especially bad.

Not too many people are drawn to look at a 2.5 unless its a marquee course on here that generally draws much higher ratings.

I only read reviews of courses I'm going to play. Don't see the point in reading any others.

I rarely read reviews, I just look at the pictures.

I like to read reviews that are at the extremes.

Also, any time I see a NH course being reviewed I'll check it out (you're welcome for the first thumbs up on that one).
