What are CTP's?

I see a lot of talk about CTP's in league matches and tournaments. I am wondering what exactly does it stand for, and what are some examples of CTP's. Sorry for the dumb question, but I have never been to any tournaments.

^^ this. At some tourneys, a prize is awarded to the person in your group that throws closest to the pin on the first hole.

On CTP holes you have a little flag or something to mark a spot and a place to write down names. When the first group throws the guy closest to the pin writes his name down and marks his lie with the flag. As other groups throw if somebody gets closer they write down their name and move the mark. At the end of the round the guy who was closest to the pin wins something.

Oddly enough, in ball golf they call closest-to-pin "KP."

CTP aka CTB(basket) contest. Its typically an easier hole during a tournament marked with flags. Each division sometimes has these contest on different holes. Sometimes the CTP is a temp hole done after a round, and not part of the course.

I hate in when I approach my CTP hole for a round, and the flag is already at a "ace or forget about it" distance.
