Default No talkin', just buildin' -NE Ohio

Baskets have arrived for two courses in Northeast Ohio.

A 10 hole course at Mosquito Lake State Park near the spillway. This course is near the existing 12 hole course but is not "connected" due to some logistics. Not to say that this will not occur sometime in the future. The property has extreme terrain for Northeast Ohio and have a single set of tees (Blue level). This course will be seasonal due to the slopes of fairway and some seasonal flooding. Installation date TBD likely in the spring 2013.

Another course, the first of two planned for West Branch State Park, is well into development. The baskets have arrived and a final walk-through will occur in the next few weeks. This course is a nine hole designed to accommodate the camping area. This will be a nine hole course planned for red/white level play. For those of you saying "boo" to any courses not designed as a par 66 course, the course was built specifically per request of the properties controlling entity. Money talks. Anticipated completion late fall 2012.

A second west branch course is being planned as an 18 hole course. I do not have details or input for design.

Good job! Don't let anyone give you any BS about building a 9-hole course (red/white level) at your customers request!!

Love the thread title... My motto for building a course is "more work, less talk" cause that's what it takes to get it done.
I'm currently building a front 9 hole course, that was requested to host tournaments one day, so its 3,534 ft long tees (Gold level) to the short pins, with room to expand another 700 ft on the front 9. Back nine holes coming in a year or so. Build what you are asked to build, period. And if anyone gives you crap for a 'short course' - ask them to buy the next 18 baskets and tell you what type of course they want...

Great job getting two local courses started. Good luck, let us know how they turn out.

West Branch Nine hole course has fairways cleared and baskets installed. Expect tees boxes in soon. Watch for course posting at that point. Will have natural tees with board marking front of box (Similar to mosquito lake SP). Playable but please wait until tee boxes are marked permanent. Red level 2255 ft.

I also love the tread title! All new courses need more doers and less talkers.

Met last week with the PCOE regarding the planned 10 Hole course at the spillway (Mosquito Lake State Park). Expect installation early May(weather dependant). i need to remark the tee and pin locations in the next two weeks. Watch for new course posting. Will likely have some sort of fund raiser for course improvement working capital as the openning day event.
