Sweet course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 26, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

18 tee boxes
tee signs with map and distance
Sweet Veteran baskets
HUGE bridge and other bridges to cross creek
lots of different shots
short and longer holes

Cons:

this course will flood, it will be muddy after a rain.

Other Thoughts:

9 Veteran baskets set along a creek with lots of large tree's.

This is not 9 short and 9 long tees, each tee is a different line to the basket, it is truly 18 different holes.
The flow is decent, it can be confusing on which direction and tee to play next. Pay attention to the signs (or use map)

While most of the course is on the short side, there are a few holes you can really let it rip.

There is some small elevation changes on the fairways, mostly because of the creek.

Would I play here again? Yes, I really enjoyed the course despite that it needed to be mowed. Lots of tunnel shots though the trees, I loved it.

but with that said, this is not a course you play if it has rained in the last week.

McGregor DGC 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 24, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Good use of terrain though there is not a lot of elevation change. Great signage and good level tee pads. The course plays mostly along a creek which at this time is almost completely dry. The course is very shaded which is a big positive given our Texas heat. Wind is rarely a factor due to the wooded condition of this location. There are 18 tees but only 9 baskets. If you like a challenge the trees are only too happy to oblige you. There is no drinking water so bring your own. There is a restroom located by the baseball field across the road from the parking lot.

Cons:

It's not an issue for me but Poison Ivy seems to be everywhere. There are not enough trash cans so some trash can be found here and there. Not a great course for a newbie due to the tight lines on many holes. When the Parks guys are mowing dust can be a pain since there is little ground cover. I don't know of a course map anywhere but the layout is fairly easy to follow.

Other Thoughts:

I play mostly during the week and only occasionally do I encounter another player or players. I found a disc on the course and called the number on it only to find out it belonged to the Asst. City Manager to me this bodes well for the upkeep of the course LOL.
