i picked up disc golf shortly after a group of friends in 2006. i was instantly hooked. I stopped playing basketball religiously a few years back, and i'm feeling the same addiction come on for disc golf. when i'm sitting in class i close my eyes and see my roc slowly gliding diligently toward its destination.
i like courses that are unique and on nice pieces of land distinctive of their region. the setting of the course is easily as important as the lay and condition of the course. One of my favorite courses has no signage, rutted dirt tees, and some tones, but is set in a redwood forest making for the coolest setting for a course i can imagine. crowded courses can reduce the fun factor for me too. i like to feel like i'm "getting away" and playing some disc golf. i like to crack a brew or two, smoke and not worry about it impeding on someone else in shared public space.
