I spent lots of time mooching off of others' reviews before beginning to take the time to rate courses and give back to DGCR. Feel free to message me to let me know what I'm doing right and how I can get better! I'm thankful to so many trusted reviewers (and the admins) who have made this website such a useful and fun disc golf resource.
Overall, I try to keep my "intra-reviewer integrity" intact. In other words, if I rank two courses the same, you should be able to assume that I enjoy them about the same and consider them similar quality, even if they're in different places, or one is 9 holes, or they're quite different for other reasons. The quality of the golf is generally more important in my ratings than the quality of amenities or even navigation. I also love nature, so I tend to enjoy courses more in a beautiful setting. Things like multiple tees or hole configurations are not inherently superior to a single set of tees or pin locations, as long as that single set of tees/pins is of adequate quality.
Up to this point, I haven't reviewed every course I've played. I generally review courses not to give them a number but because I have something to say. I prefer to have played the course multiple times, in different conditions or seasons, but sometimes I'm comfortable reviewing after just one play. I don't give courses 5 (or even 4.5) easily, but I find those courses worth reviewing so I have a decent number with those ratings. Thus far, my definite 5.0 courses include: Branson Trails Blue and Selah Creekside. There are a number of close ones (Picnic Island, Selah Lakeside, Trey Ranch - Texas Twist) but I want to play again before calling them a 5. I look forward to getting to some more similar quality courses.
I'm currently in the Oklahoma City area, so feel free to hit me up if you're in the area. Here are my top several courses out here, all of which are in good shape these days and very fun:
1. Dolese Youth Park - East
2. Noble DGC
3. N.E. Lions Park
4. Griffin Park
I also lived in Miami, FL, for a bit. One underrated course down there is Palmetto Bay Village Center, which I hope more DGCRers will enjoy. Florida has plenty of other awesome courses, and I loved playing T2 at Bill Frederick Park (Orlando), Picnic Island (Tampa), and Cliff Stephens and N.E. Coachman (Clearwater). I regret not playing more Ft. Lauderdale courses and writing more reviews when I was there.
1) Kendall Indian Hammocks - East (Hole 6, ~220', Predator tomahawk)
