Pros: -Excellent Baskets
-Good mix of trees to work around vs. wide open
-Quiet City Park, upkeep is good
Cons: -Tee box is grass with several bricks in the ground in a "C" shape to mark the front
-Tee bricks are overgrown on most holes
-Walking path in play on #1,#2, #4, #5, #6
-Playground in play on #2
-Street and sidewalk in play on #7 and #8
-Water behind #8
-Swings in play on #9
Other Thoughts: Plymouth DGC plays in Old School Park on the western edge of Plymouth, IA. An average park course, there are 2 sections of the park that are used (1-6 in the larger part, 7-9 in the smaller part near the creek). Tees are marked with a "C" shape of several bricks deep in the grass. Many of these are overgrown and tough to see. I didn't realize until #7 that there is a brick in the upper left corner with the hole #, distance and basic shape. There is no apparent tee box for #9, I just teed near the #8 basket. I'm guessing this may have been washed away under a flood as it is right next to the creek. There is some minor elevation and some trees to work around, but most lines are open. Distances are short with the long at 287'. A good course for the beginner or rec player. The hazards are what knock this down for me. A walking path, playground, swingset, and even a street come into play. You will even want to watch that you don't go far right on #5 and end up in the farm pasture. The cows seemed interested in my presence, just not sure how friendly they would be if you hopped the fence, plus your disc would be lucky to be be just covered in mud. Adding concrete pads and signage would help, but even doing a good job of trimming up the existing boxes would help as well. The park was not busy when I was there, but with a baseball game going on, #5 may be unplayable. Nice for the small town it is in, I would play often, if I lived here. I might play again, if in the area.
