In Da Neighborhood

Pros:

(1.258 Rating) A quiet confined HOA course.
- NEIGHBORHOOD GOLF - If I lived in Little Rock this looks like a place I would want to live and could hopefully afford. Broadmoor Lake boarders the east end of this small park course and it rather elevates the experience towards the end of the round. If I lived within a couple blocks of the course, I would probably play it everyday.
- CHAINS - Patriot Baskets in good shape.
- SIGNAGE - Respectable tee signs for a seemingly private course. Hole number and distance only, but that's all that is needed on this one.
- TIME PLAY - Once someone figures out how to get into the park, it will go quick. Several super short transitions. Average hole lengths are under 250 feet. It took me 21 minutes solo first time through.

Cons:

Cramped
- PARK SIZE - The size of this park is far too small to deliver anything worth traveling a long distance to go see. My choosing to play here was driven by the fact that I thought it would be a quick round, and it was. Sidewalks, other park amenities or backyards are in play on every hole. In an active park setting, skipping holes may be required.
- LAYOUT FLOW - Fairways cross several times. Normally I would blast this, but it's a super small park that honestly had no choice unless they were willing to put in a bunch of 100-foot holes. I think the double back on (7) and (8) could have been avoided considering they were ok with crossing fairways.
- AMENITIES AND EXTRAS - Other than the baskets and tee signs, there are no other course related amenities present. The tees are natural without a defined throwing line as well.
- HOLE VARIETY - I played the course with 3 discs and did just fine. Generally short park style plays with modest elevation change. No heavily wooded holes and nothing over 315 feet long.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - I scored Broadmoor lake below average, but there is some charm to this place. First I'll note that the park is completely surrounded by residential backyard fences. Most of the neighboring properties look nice, but not all of them. The small park appears to be maintained but, it's clearly without the required budget to add noticeable curb appeal. I liked the view of the pond behind the basket on (8). Overall, I went with 40 percentile for this category.
- PARKING - It took me a minute to figure out how to access this park. The available parking is street only, on small residential roads. There are three access points into the park, the one along Berkshire Drive is the closest to tee (1).

Other Thoughts:

An interesting course. I can't say I've played too many like this one. Somewhat similar to a course I played in Traverse City called The Backyard, but minus the forest. Overall, this one felt like a tweener 1.25 post play and apparently my tallied-up formula numbers felt the same way. For those traveling through Little Rock, I would say skip it. It'll work fine for those in the neighborhood and up to 10 minutes away to work on midrange shots and putting. Beyond that range, I could only recommend it to course baggers. Those that are nearby and looking for competitive play, should look elsewhere as well.

Pros:

Nice neighborhood parkLightly wooded with a few trees to maneuver

Cons:

All holes are short (200-250 feet)Grass needed to be trimmedNeighborhood on all sides so lots of barking dogs

Other Thoughts:

There are several paved paths in-between houses that lead down into the park. I parked in front of 2 Berkshire - that path takes you to hole #1
