Pros: -Wide open, trees in play only on 13, 14
-Homemade baskets (kinda cool)
-Grounds in nice shape
Cons: -Play next to / clipping the edge of a Cemetery (kinda creepy)
-White stick marking natural tees (handwritten # fading on most)
-No benches / trashcans
Other Thoughts: Watertower Park DGC plays adjacent to a cemetery and near the town watertower in the NW corner of Osage, IA. It appears that the #10-#18 baskets from Spring Park were transplanted here. The homemade baskets are in a little better shape here, but still had some fallen chains. Play is wide open with a handful of small trees along #10, #11. The edge of the park with trees and dense brush play along #12, #13 and #14. There are some larger trees that create possible tunnel shots on #13 and #14 (or you can stay to the right of this line of trees, hooking in to the baskets.) #16 clips an edge of the cemetery (no fence or marking, but a couple of headstones out here). #18 booms coming back at ~582'. This is much longer and more open than Spring Park, but plays as a good "back 9" to pair with it. Better signage, concrete pads, benches, trashcans would all add to the rating here. I enjoyed my round and would play again, if in the area.
