Pros: 9 Veteran Baskets, and tee signs that are blue tiles on the ground. First tee starts on the Eastside of the hospital on the Eastside of the staff parking. First hole is right next to the PBC pipe sticking out of the ground throwing across the field. Pretty easy navigation overall besides the long walk from holes 3 to 4. Good mix of shots that make you shoot pretty accurate or you can be in trouble with some thick brush in the rough and massive trees that obstruct your view of the basket when putting if you aren't in a good position. There are a few hyzer shots and some flicks. Only a few holes really require a driver as only one hole is over 300 feet and the other is 270.
Cons: When I played, holes 1 and 9 were pretty overgrown. The grass was almost knee high on me but the rest of the course was in great shape with fairways mowed. Dirt teepads which became problematic as I actually played in the rain. Seems like the other reviewers mentioned it could be an issue so nice I can provide confirmation around it. Slipped quite a bit on drives. The main issue though is the walking path that comes into play. Especially hole 2. There is a tree right on the bend of the sidewalk that could make you not see someone approaching. As I mentioned, I played in the rain and still saw people using the path to run. The teesign tiles have also worn down a little bit since the last review of the course. I think it was number 9, but I couldn't see the distance on the sign.
Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a quick course that gives you a few different looks during your round. I didn't play great today as it was wet and my towel fell out of my bag on the way to hole 1 without me noticing until I was putting. I'll probably go back tomorrow and give it a second go around since I definitely left some shots out there. By no means a destination course but it is very close to many businesses so could be a nice lunch break round or quick one before heading home from work.

Pros: -- New Veteran baskets
-- Blue tiles for tee markers in the ground, with hole number and distance, although the hole numbers are already getting hard to read.
-- Easy to navigate, except for transition from 3 to 4. You continue north on the walking path (it's a long walk). When you reach the end, turn left and follow the gravel path to the southwest.
-- Beautiful mowed fairways and paths to tee pads when you are not following the walking path.
-- For a shorter course (only one hole is 300 feet), there is good variety. Shot shaping is required, and you have uphill and downhill throws. Many baskets are protected, so landing on the correct side is important.
Cons: -- Pedestrian path is in play on 4 of 9 holes.
-- Off of the mowed path/fairway, rough is thorny and tall. You aren't likely to lose a disc, but you might spend some time looking.
-- Natural tees. They are not terrible now, but some are already showing wear. I doubt they will hold up for long.
-- No restrooms or water.
-- No benches.
-- Long walk from parking to No. 1 and then back to parking after No. 9.
Other Thoughts: -- The course is behind the hospital and starts near the northeast corner of the building and follows the walking path for holes 2-3 before turning left onto a gravel path to get to the remaining holes. No. 9 ends near the No. 1 tee.
-- Someone put some work into making this a nice course, but a map and directional aide (or aides) getting from 3 to 4 would really help.
-- All of the parking behind the hospital (near the course) is mark as staff only.

Pros: -9 new Veteran baskets
-blue tiles for tee signs, with hole number and distance
-fun, rec style holes that are great for beginners
-most greens have a bit of danger
-easy to navigate
-quick round, 1 person can finish in 20 mins
Cons: -a pedestrian path is in play on 4 of the holes
-if you really get off the fairway the rough is a bit thorny, especially hole 3
-natural tees are okay but some of them look like they could get really muddy after a rain
Other Thoughts: The course at the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital is a well-done recreational course. It's perfect for families visiting the hospital or short game practice for local residents.

When you drive around to the back side of the hospital, you should see a few baskets in the field. The first tee is next to the walking path directly adjacent to the parking lot and it plays to the basket across the field. You should see the blue tile tee sign on the ground. Most of the tees are easily visible from the previous green except the transition from hole 3 to hole 4. Follow the walking path then go left at the dirt path.

The holes are mostly pitch and putt. Experienced players could do just a midrange and putter but you might want a driver on hole 3, maybe hole 8. Even though the holes are on the shorter side, they are not gimme birdies. There is usually danger around the green with lots of trees inside the circle, especially holes 2, 5, and 7. The layout is mostly geared toward RHBH but a few holes have a reasonable forehand line. Beginners and rec players should find the holes manageable but not necessarily easy.

For a short rec course, Scottish Rite is surprisingly fun and can be a challenge to rack up birdies. There can be good bit of wind and you have to land your drive on the correct side of the green to have a putt. It's not worth going out of the way for this course but it's a nice change of pace for players in the Frisco/Plano/Carrollton area. Course baggers might be pleasantly surprised at this one but you probably won't think about a repeat visit.

Pros: I am glad they are using the land. There are 18 new baskets. Nice parking behind the hospital, but the hospital was not open yet so I don't know how it will be in the future. Fast warm up fast play for beginners. Its right off the toll way. Few are ace able.
Cons: Holes are short, You have to throw over or near the walk way sidewalk on half the holes. The tee are just markers on the ground. Just pretty boring over all for experienced players.
Other Thoughts: #1 is right near the parking area right off the closest walk way. Don't walk far it plays across the grass
