Sucks as a course

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 7, 2023 Played the course:once

Pros:

Has 7 red DisCatchers
Large Open field for boomer drives
has something like 4 trees near the road.
Small hill on 2 holes

Cons:

Nothing marking tees or hole numbers.
Other than near the first couple of baskets, the course is wide open

Other Thoughts:

This is not a course, this is a practice area where you could throw back and forth across a field if no one is using the field.

Using the other app map, the course plays basket to basket with a couple of short holes in the couple of trees, to the last 4 holes being all wide open air it out shots.

There is not much to say otherwise. As a practice area, I might rate this as a 2, but because it's suppose to be a school course, why is there a 400+ft hole?

I have it a 1/2 star only because it does have basket and you can throw between them.

Would I play here again? Hell no, I played it so you don't have too. I uploaded pictures so you know how boring it is. I really should move this to be listed as a practice area.

The Flattened Frontier

Reviewed: Played on:May 16, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

(For your reference, Udisc has a map of 7 holes going counter-clockwise around the field starting closest to the middle school.  That's where my hole numbers are coming from.)

Seven red Discatchers with a nice amount of distance and some elevation in play.  Four holes pass the 300' mark. Can be played both ways around if you want, especially cause the place won't ever be too busy.

A few interesting elements.  The pin of 3 is tucked behind a low-hanging tree.  6 is a tough backhand and 7 has a 60ft tall tree on either side of it guarding big hyzer drives.

Tons of safari potential at this one.  A wide open field sits in between the "fairways" making it a prime site for a long safari course.

Almost no lost disc potential. Good mowing work by the school.

Cons:

The course is played from basket to basket and there are no directional aids.  I dont know if there's an official map, but if you don't have it it would be easy to get turned around or miss the basket of 6.

Over half the holes have no obstacles besides air.  2, 4, 5, and 6 all have no trees to fight and no difficult elements besides the Kansas wind and the school track fence on hole 6.

Basket of 7 was damaged when I was there.  3 chains had fallen from the top and one of the basket welds had popped.

Other Thoughts:

It's hard to tell who this practice course is made for.  The short holes are decent. But the 475' and 390' throws later on are not beginneer friendly.  In the end it's yet another school practice course.  Nothing much to write home about except here I am writing about it.  Come out, throw a few long bombs, collect your putts, and move to a better course.

It's a practice field 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 26, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

Baskets are in good shape. There's a few trees around some of the pins, and on others, there's plenty of opportunity to throw some bombs. You can play at the baskets from different directions to create different shot shapes at the pin.

I played from one basket to the next in a clockwise fashion around the field, but you could play the opposite direction and have a similar experience.

Cons:

There were no tee markings that I could find, and no way to know which basket was which hole. The entire course is in a giant field next to a school, so there was no way to know what hole went where. I only ever found seven of the baskets. There was some paint on the grass that could have been tees, but it was faded and could have been a cross country track.

If there's anyone else at the field, which there was when I was there, safety could be a big issue. But if you skip a hole you're not missing anything.

Other Thoughts:

The only things keeping me from giving this a 0.0 is that the grass is taken care of and the baskets are good quality. Other than that, this is literally the definition of a practice field. And you know, as far as practice fields go, this is one of the better ones.

If you're looking to play a round of Disc Golf, just go somewhere else.
