Pros: -Nice White Dynamic Veteran Baskets
-Good use of the area
-Not just a pitch n putt in a park, but takes some skill
-Decent Lines for most holes
-Minimal Water in Play
-Nice small county park, recently acquired, lake, cabins to be added
Cons: -Natural Tees
-Current tee sign is a short post with only a hole #
-Elevation a bit much for amateurs
-Hole #7 is tight to an OB, basket on side of a hill
Other Thoughts: Liberty Lake DGC is located at the relatively new (2018) Liberty Lake County Park just north of Mount Ayr, IA. This is probably the best use of an area for 9 holes that I played. While not a ton of vegetation, the elevation is used quite well. Some may feel too many straightforward shots, but the ups and downs and 2 baskets with the small lake behind add to the interest. With this course going in just last year, there may be upgrades to be made yet. It could use concrete pads, signage, and maybe some alternate pin locations. These would only add to a wonderfully created course that is firmly mid-level for difficulty, but still accessible to someone new (just know there is a lot of up and down). Reading on the park talks of additions of cabins, camping, a lodge, and other activities. Could be a nice weekend getaway once all these. Definitely one to check out, if you are in the area. I will play again, if in the area.
