 Sweet Course

- good variety of holes
- good baskets
- park was clean and mowed
- wooden steps up and down where needed
- a few holes may not be playable if other park activities are in progress
- no tee signs
- walk between 17 and 18
Other Thoughts: This course was my favorite of the NW Kansas trip. There was a bit of everything! I had to stop and think a bit on most every hole which is a good sign. I compared it to Waterworks in KC because it has ups and downs, tunnel shots, trees, risky shots, and more. It just doesn't have the length. Because of the ups/downs, they had put in wooden steps where needed which was very nice! If I was anywhere close I'd come play this thing anytime I could. If I had nothing to do and I wanted to go play a couple courses over a couple of days, I'm thinking I'd head this way Check out Chained Evil's review below. I decided not to be redundant.

Wished it was closer to home

Pros: This course offers a variety of shots from long to short and tight technical holes as well. It uses the surrounding areas of the park nicely in that regard. If you like a heavily guarded pin then hole 13 is right up your alley. Grounds were nicely mowed upon my visit. Hole 4 was a nice, tight, short hole that you must hit your line to score well and hole 7 was along the same lines but with a little more length. Hole 1 starts you off with the chance to air out your drive if you keep it low past the first set of trees.
Hole #10 was unique in that you had to throw across a dirt race track, and I have never seen this before and thought it was a cool idea. Where else can you say that you threw over a race track in KS? This hole scores points in that regard just for the story that you can tell your friends.
Cons: There are no distances for the holes listed and no map either. As an out of towner it is always nice to have at least some sort of map to see where you are going for the first time. The long walk between 17's basket and 18's tee pad was a little too much, but was necessary given the obstacles that is to be avoided but it still throws the flow off a bit. The hard packed dirt areas are super slick after a hard rain and going up and down to get to the tee pads by the levee/creek was slicker than snot on a brass door knob. There was a lot of beer/soda cans on the ground and I don't recall seeing a trash can at any of the pads. If there were other activities going on in the park, county fair, or especially if they were racing cars around the race track, then you would have to skip a couple of holes. Obviously if there were races going on then you would for sure have to skip holes 10 and 11. Hole 13 is both a pro and a con depending on your point of view. The basket is tucked into the trees and it is pretty much a throw and pray type of shot. If you go too far to the left it will cost you a few strokes to get out of the rough.
These next points really aren't cons per se but are concerns that you should have if you are playing when there are other activities going on in the park:
Hole 5 has a skate park to your left so be advised
Hole 8 has a ball field to your right so watch your throw
Hole16 has a ball field to your left so again be aware.
Other Thoughts: One of the best courses in NW KS. Too bad it is so far away from where I live to play this course on a regular basis. I would definitely play this course again if I were in the area. When I played this course it had rained heavily the morning before and rained during the last part of my round, so the course was super sloppy. I would love to have another crack at this course under drier conditions. This is a course that will make you think about your shots and will offer you a good challange. Safety issues in spots and the lack of distances and a map of some kind of knock the rating of this great course down a half of a disc for me. It really does have good variety and is a must play if you are in the area. If you are looking for a course that will test your skills and are in the NW KS area then hit this course up. I think you will like what it has to offer.

Pros: Very much a variety of shot types down hill, up hill, wooded, open, left, right. This layout is one of my favortites that I have seen in KS OR NE.
Cons: Not too lefty friendly. The baskets are homemade but always seem to get nicer each time I play here.. If all the holes are in short it is a little short but when they in long it is very nice
Other Thoughts: No map at the top of the hill that would be nice can be a little tricky finding the way around but most every corse can be that way.

Pros: I love this course with a passion. Last time we were there, we played it 3 days in a row. The holes have lots of variety. You play through a playground, skate park, race track, softball field, parking lot, county fair grounds, and a creek bed.
Cons: On hole 10, a strong drive may kill a rabbit. Watch out for the local wildlife.
Other Thoughts: Great family environment to bring your kids along.

Pros: This course uses up some land on the fringe of a park that would otherwise not be used for anything worthwhile. Features cement tees, well mowed fairways. There are some very unique holes, like #1 a 500' downhill (in Kansas downhill is unique) shot with either a straight low ceiling, or a wide RHBH hyzer between two large, tilted trees on the hillside. Several holes on a ridge, and several in thick woods. 2 holes throw over a horse race track.
Cons: During events, course could be closed or unplayable due to it's proximity to all the other park features. Poorly marked, no signs just hard to spot cement stands with a number.
