Easy to get to off I-95 and a quick round

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 12, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Good, new Mach 5 baskets are in good shape. Several are across an open field of the church property, a couple are next to thick woods (#4 and #5), only #1 is tucked back into the woods.
Good tee signs on every hole show the layout and distance. I'm not sure these distances are correct, or are measured from the location of the sign. #1 has an attempt at actual tees, which are at least 40-50' behind the tee sign, so maybe the others are measured the same, I just didn't see any of these other tee frames.
Course stays mostly away from church building and activities. It finishes with a couple of pretty good holes, #7 and #8. #7 tees across and probably little used part of the parking lot, low ceiling underneath some branches, then the basket is below low branches of a large, old growth tree. #8 tees underneath the branches of another large tree, or you can hyzer around them, to a basket tucked in a corner between the entrance road and a small ditch.
The church is located just a couple of turns off of I-95 (in fact you can see it from I-95), just behind a Bass Pro Shops. There are plenty of food, gas and shopping options at this exit, so a lot of choices for the rest of the family to enjoy while you bag this course in about 30 mins.

Cons:

No actual tees, they are all natural grass, so I just teed next to the tee signs.
#2 and #6 share the same basket. I've rarely seen this on a course, maybe a lack of funds for 9 baskets?, maybe one was damaged?. Shouldn't be a big issue since this course probably doesn't get a lot of rounds played.
The holes along the woods, #1,#4 and #5, border very thick woods, high lost disc potential. The field that these border is SOOO large, I don't see why these aren't set out a little further, of course then the challenge would be decreased, but I don't think this course was installed to be challenging. (The designers did clear the green area around #1).
#7 and #8, while good holes, do have their issues, if the parking lot is full, #7 will have to be teed from another spot, also the basket is very close to a fenced playground. On #8, the basket is just several feet from the entrance drive, so there could be safety issues. Also, #9 basket is located along side the entrance drive, with the wind blowing like it was the day I was there, that road could come into play.

Other Thoughts:

As mentioned above, this course is easy to access off I-95. When you make the turn toward the church, there is a dirt lot immediately on your left, bordering a wooded area with picnic tables, park in that lot. The tee for #1 is at the end of the lot, and #9 finishes at the other end of the lot.
While this course probably doesn't get a lot of rounds played, I did see a foursome there when I was there and saw a dad there with his Zuca cart, and daughter, getting some practice in. Hopefully this will expose some new and young players to the sport.
