Hated This Layout With the Fire of 1,000 Suns

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 28, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

I try to start my reviews with the best quality of the course. So, here it goes.
- This seems like a nice apartment complex. Not far from many of Greenville's breweries.
- There's an awesome view of an old, abandoned rail road track right behind one of the baskets. You could get some amazing pictures of the track being overtaken by kudzu and other views.
- There are three new DISCatcher baskets located behind the apartment complex.
- They are in a small natural area designated for disc golf only.

Cons:

Two of three baskets are installed right up against the vines/underbrush. Go 10 feet past a basket and you'll need a machete to hack your way to your disc.
- These same two baskets also have a steep drop-off just past that underbrush. So, if you find yourself in here looking for a disc, one wrong step and you're down 12 feet into the creek.
- There is a fenced-in dog park just in front of the disc golf area. Thankfully, there are enough self-righteous dog owners that believe their dogs are too good for it and would rather use the disc golf land for their pets to use the bathroom all the while not cleaning up after them.
- The third basket is right in front of a construction area for new buildings. Go a couple feet long and you're jumping a plastic construction fence into a dirt/mud construction area.
- You can safely practice putting up to 20 feet away without worrying about a lost disc.

Other Thoughts:

If there were just two baskets here, you could move them away from the dangerous areas and have a much better practice area.
- There's enough space here to have a couple of holes in the 125 - 150 foot range.
- It absolutely sucks that even if you're a disc golfer who lives here, these holes are virtually unplayable. You can safely practice circle one putts for the open basket in front of the construction fence.
- Other than that, these baskets are an absolute waste. It's not fun having to lag putt from 25 feet away in the fear of going long and losing a disc and/or getting scratched up.
- Has anyone ever lost a disc in a practice area? Here's your chance.
- Absolutely hated everything to do with this layout. You could probably 're-home' all three baskets and move them somewhere else and nobody would ever notice. No basket, especially a new one, should suffer this injustice.
- Worst of the worst when it comes to layouts. A complete disaster.
