Other Thoughts: Wilson Country park hosts a complete, but work in progress DGC south of the town of Lenox, IA. The park wraps around a small man-made lake with camping on the north side and some playground equipment and a couple of shelters on the south side. The course mostly utilizes this south half with #11-#14 wrapping up in the NW corner of the park. The course uses the "fingers" of lake for a few water carries (#1, #4, #5, #9, #14). I played in mid-June with some very tall grasses close to the lake. The grasses and water carries could spell disc loss danger here. This is playable, but a work in progress as there is look for more permanent tees, signage and baskets. There is also design for a short set of tees at most holes. That would make it more accessible for the novice players. Right now, the grass and the water make it at least an intermediate course. Potential is here to make more of a destination course, which by its locale, it would need to be as it is way off the beaten path. Add concrete tees, "red" tees, good signage, and good baskets, this is a 4.0 course. A great start, I hope the vision comes to fruition. A bit out of the way, but especially with upgrades, I would play again.
