More 9ers up here please

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 23, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Good amount of distances for people with bigger arms. There's typically not a whole lot of courses up here where you can really grip and rip.

- Signage is really nice and shows you the line to the basket which is always nice if you're not sure which shot to take.

- Losing a disc would be pretty hard unless you threw a hard hyzer that faded into the woods and even then the rough is pretty forgiving in most of the areas.

- Teepads are fresh, grippy concrete and the baskets are brand new Mach 5's which catch great.

- Most of the course minus the first couple of holes are in it's own little area in the back of the park specifically for disc golf so you shouldn't have to worry about non-DGers being in the way.

Cons:

- The entire course is pretty much the same long RHBH hyzer throw with woods on the left side the entire time. I think hole 7 is the only hole where that's not the case.

- The woods were not utilized at all which would've definitely been nice so it's not the same open 400+ foot hole over and over again.

- The wow factor isn't there. It's a decent course to practice your big throws but that's pretty much the biggest plus. Just a basic open field 9er where 7/9 of the holes are 300+ feet.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, this wasn't a bad course by any means. If I lived in the area, I'd definitely come here to practice my distance shots. Not sure if I just went on a good day but the wind seemed almost non-existent which is great for courses designed for bigger distances.

It's also nice to have another 9 hole course up here because for some reason, there seems to be a lack of them. This course plus the Eagle Pines high school course a few miles away makes for a few good warmups for the other courses in the area or if you happen to be on your way up to Iron River.
