Pros: This is a good quick course to learn the game on.
Cons: The course can be pretty dangerous due to some holes being especially close to each other. The huge playground that is near the course sometimes encourages parents to allow their kids to go play on the course which can be dangerous too, as well as being a nuisance.

Holes are not marked at all, maybe 2 out the nine holes are actually marked.

Extremely easy to put a disc in the river.
Other Thoughts: Mead is a nice park and would be a good place to disc if had a little more of a challenge and a few less pedestrians.

Pros: Its good for beginners if you just want to mess around and throw some discs..Only 9 holes..Right off the water..Sweet bball court..All holes are reachable, Throw mead if you want something quick and make some Ace runs!
Cons: nothing real interesting about it..poor course design..not technical at all, backyard kind of course..
Other Thoughts: Im a nice guy but dont be surprised if you run into some ACEholes!

Pros: Well maintained and clean, concrete pads, and well designed holes and long for a nine hole. Mostly open but still somewhat challenging.
Cons: Very dangerous course design, Multi-use park, mostly younger rec players better locals play the better courses in the area
Other Thoughts: This course is a clean, fun, course that has good facilities and gets a lot out of its limited space. It is is a very playable 9 hole.
But be careful though or you could get drilled with a disc. There are teepads and pins located right next to or on fairways. I had a couple of near misses and the locals were telling me about someone who took a disc to the grill.

Decent practice and easy to play

Pros: Concrete tee pads; always easy to find your disc; bathrooms available; some tees have information; short walks from pins to tees; will allow you practice your weaknesses all round - all backhand, all forehand, all rollers, all thumbers, or all tomahawks could work for 7-8 of the holes - you can still score birdies. (This is usually a con, but for a practice session it's not a bad thing)
Cons: Doesn't require a variety of shots; can be tricky to follow; much too easy to be considered a true 'course'; about half the holes have basically no obstacles, 2-3 have obstacles that are easily avoided with forehand or backhand hyzer; most tees don't have a number or are missing information; very little thought needed to score well
Other Thoughts: Mead is a little course in a neighborhood park. If you go there, you'll have some fun - but mainly because disc golf itself is enjoyable, not because Mead brings out its best. What Mead brings is a course that will provide practice without the frustration of having to constantly look for discs or play holes that force you to use your most matured shot.

A score of 2.0 is considered average. For a course to be considered average, it simply has to force a player to use a relatively wide variety of shots and have holes that make you think about strategy. Mead is an adequate course, but it just doesn't provide that level of play.

I agree with the reviewer that preceded me - Mead is a decent course to play quickly before going somewhere else. (Yulga and Standing Rocks are both close by!)

While this course has its place, I cannot put it in the same class as other courses I have scored as average. For this, Mead is below average - 1.5.

 Home Course

Pros: Great quick course along a beautiful stretch of the Wisconsin River. Concrete pads and nearby grills and tables make it a great place for a day long outing.
Cons: Not very challenging, lack of trees and obstacles. Watch out for goose poop and pedestrians, not to mention the lake that appears in the early season.
Other Thoughts: This is a fun home course because it allows you to work on your game in a very open environment. The course itself isn't worthy of crossing the state for, but other courses in the area are, so stopping by Mead for a warmup is a great idea.
