Pros: -Nice Concrete Teepads
-In a nicely manicured park with very little chance of losing a disc
-Decent use of the few trees and elevation that they have in the park
-Area of park with course is mostly only disc golf so you usually don't have to worry about non disc golfers
-Good course to practice a vareity of shots on because it is pretty wide open.
-Nice long concrete teepads
Cons: -Since this is currently the only course in Boulder, this course gets really crowded and you will probably end up waiting at many of the holes on this course.
-It can be a little hard to follow the first time through as some of the baskets could go to a couple different holes
-The hole number is on the teepads, but there are not tee signs at the holes so you don't know the layout of the holes or the distance or par or anything like that
-Most of the holes are wide open and none of the holes are that long
Other Thoughts: If you are in the Boulder area and looking for a course to play then this is your only option currently and worth a stop but due to the crowds and lack of any very memorable holes, this course is not worth going out of your way to play.

Underwhelming Park Course

Pros: This is an open-field park course with minimal trees. It requires a fair amount of long and short shots. Constant movement of pins at least gives users some sort of variety within the park. This course is a good way to get out there, play a quick round, and work on your basic throwing skills.
Cons: This course is notorious for getting extremely crowded on a nice day. It's possible to expect delays up to ten minutes. The course also has minimal technical challenge as most holes are straight shots from the tree boxes. This course is also frequented by strong winds which can throw off your game. There are also no signs, so a first timer may get a bit lost.
Other Thoughts: A good course to get out there and play if you're in the area, but not a destination. Harlow Plattes is a giant field requiring minimal navigation with your discs.

Good Practice Course

Pros: It is a relatively short 9 hole course, but there's more variety than one would expect. The park uses what little elevation it has well, with number 3 being a nice downhill ace run. Almost every hole has 3 pin positions that seem to be changed around every week to keep it interesting. For a beginner course, holes 2,8,9 are fairly long (maybe 325-400 depending on the pin) and are wide open enough to practice proper driving technique when its not too crowded. There's also a practice cage just past the parking lot which is useful if you're killing time waiting for the crowds to die down.
Very large, durable concrete tee pads on every hole, with the hole number etched on.
Signature Hole - 2 - Pond behind with fantastic views of the flatirons, and the most unique hole at this course with a shot across the valley, around a large tree, to a basket on the side of the hill ~325'-375' or so away
Cons: This course gets very crowded when the weather's nice, with large groups of relatively inexperienced players that can back up the course. The variety in length is nice, but holes 5-7 are ridiculously short. They're useful for practicing short putter/mid lines, but not much else (5 and 7 slope downhill, so even these shots aren't as practical). That being said, beginners don't want to have to throw 325-350 on every drive, so they give everyone a chance at a few birdies.
No tee signs. Navigation is easy enough, but it would be helpful to have distances and the current pin location, since 1 and 9 switch places regularly
Other Thoughts: I love having this course 10 minutes away in order to work on my game without having to find a large open field or be stuck in my backyard putting. However, if you're only stopping by Boulder/Denver for a little while or live somewhere else around the city, there are a number of better courses. I'd recommend Bird's Nest or Johnny Roberts in Arvada for those close to Boulder, and Beaver Ranch up in the mountains near Conifer for those with more time.
Its a shame Boulder doesn't have a full 18-hole course (and surprising considering the city's culture), but at least there's something.

Fun Quick Play

Pros: Fun course to play if you want to get in a few quick rounds. While the course isn't meticulously maintained, the basket placement changes from time to time making for some variety. Most of the shots are pretty wide open and it's a great course for beginners. I started playing last year and I learned on this course. Nice views of the Flatirons too.
Cons: On nice days the course can be very crowded and during the school year can be overrun with Cross Country kids, being close to a school. Course gets a little boring after playing it a lot.
Other Thoughts: This is really all a town like Boulder's got to offer?

Nice, Short, and Easy.

Pros: Beautiful scenery. Nice mixture of short and long holes. Some challenging, some easy. It's a great course for beginners to start out at and it's a great course for more experienced players to practice and have fun!
Cons: At times: too small- it can get easily congested and crowded. Too many kids. Lots of big groups don't let smaller groups play through...
Other Thoughts: Aced #5 & #6. Woot Woot.

Trip to Boulder

Pros: The holes vary in length with a couple of long holes. The trees play into the course very nicely. The tee pads are long which is always good. The course had a few people on it noon on a tuesday. I must assume its a pretty popular course for the Boulder area.
Cons: The course is only 9 holes. They don't use the lake as a hazard at all.
Other Thoughts: This is a fun course. I played it twice, but it'd be nice if they would add to it. The forest fire made the mountains look pretty sweet today.

Nice, relaxing course

Pros: Long, open course, you can really let your discs fly, not worrying about trees.
Cons: The course has lots of traffic. Also, not many challenging shots.
Other Thoughts: This course is very easy, and is a great ego boost to anybody who's slightly familiar with disc golfing...

Nine Holes with a View

Pros: This is a satisfying nine hole course with just enough length, diversity, and amenities to keep you coming back. Length - while not yet posted I estimate holes to range from about 220' to about 450', giving a total distance of around 2600', which is just about right for the novice and intermediate level players. The concrete tees are gigantic measuring around 6' wide by 15' long; however they are laid in the contour of the land rather than level, which is very noticeable and slightly treacherous on #1 and #3. Each tee also has a large stamped number on the back of each tee indicating the hole.
The park is very well maintained and heavily used by playing kids, bikers, walkers, and runners. Plus, what the main area of the course lacks in foliage, it makes up for in elevation. #2 is a great hole and perfect example of having to play the slope and length if you want a decent chance at bird. The pins are Mach III's that are easy to spot in the open areas.
This is one of those few courses where the scenery is worth a mention as much as the course. Boulder is a beautiful place set in the foothills of the Rockies, and this Houston transplant paused on multiple occasions to just to marvel at the towering peaks.
BEST HOLE/S: #2
Cons: Ever play a course that satisfied you, but just lacked that pizzazz to make you think this is a great course? Harlow Platts fits the mold. The course is far too open for many people, the length is too short for big arms and many experienced players, and the little things like unmarked pins and no tee signs prevent this course from ever being rated high.
Holes #6 and #7 are throwaway holes although, #7 at least has a fair number of trees you must shape your mid-range around. Bottom line is that if you're decent you are going to shoot low numbers, which could be a pro or a con.
WORST HOLE/S: #6
Other Thoughts: I'm a little shocked that a major college town that seems to cater heavily to the hippie, yuppie, medicinal marijuana smoking, liberal, green-minded, and progressive attitude only has one disc golf course. Boulder has that real Austin City Limits feel, so why are you traveling to Denver or Longmont of all places play some real disc golf. Boulder is screaming with the possibility to become a disc golf mecca, and it has to perfect clientele to do it. But alas, there is only one course, but luckily it's good enough to satisfy the need.

Great view of the Flat Irons

Pros: By far, the best feature of this course is an outstanding view of the Flat Irons mountains in the background. All by itself, this beauty would make almost any course nice to play, and it certainly increased my enjoyment substantially.
*There are moderate elevation changes on most of the holes.
*Good concrete tees.
*A warm up basket near the parking lot.
Cons: -There are no tee signs, so that can make it hard to find the next tee, and there are no hole lengths available. Also, the baskets don't have any numbers on them, so it can be hard in spots to tell which basket to throw to. Make sure to print out a course map (online at DGCR) before you go.
-Too many open holes for my taste.
Other Thoughts: Course Level = White (most suited for Intermediate players rated 875-925)
If you like open courses where you can let your disc fly to baskets that are open and unguarded then this would be a good course for you. I enjoy more trees and obstacles, so I liked holes 6 & 7 the best here. Still, even though the course itself was rather lackluster, playing in the cool of the early morning with views of the Flat Irons was a great way to start the day.

Practice playground

Pros: Great baskets, well maintained, scenery is incredible, plenty of parking,
Cons: Very few obstacles, tee pads not textured so they get extremely slippery when wet, very crowded, fairways cross for several pin placements, signage non-existent with the exception of hole numbers on tee pads and pins, drainage problems cause course to get swamped after significant precipitation, during the fall the nearby high school has their cross country team practice on the fairways which leads to MANY folks getting hit with discs (maybe that one should have gone under 'pros')
Other Thoughts: Great for beginners because you can take virtually any line you want to the pins because they are so wide open. The only holes that aren't a very easy birdy are 2 and 8, and even they aren't very difficult if you can throw 350-375ft. I recommend parking on the street on the backside so you have your choice to jump in at hole 5,6,7,or 8 because there is usually big backups at tee 1 due to the overcrowding. Sprinklers come on at exactly 2:21pm everyday in the summer and soak tee pad #1.
