 Great Lunch-Hour Course

Pros: Close-in makes it convenient to zip over there during the lunch hour to get in a quick round. Park is well manicured, so you don't have to do a lot of hunting to find discs. Fairly level terrain won't have you all sweaty by the time you head back to the office.
Cons: Short course - 9 holes, each less than 300 ft. Most drives setup for birdies. Lots of foot-traffic on the trails surrounding the course, and if you're not careful, you could potentially lodge a disc in the roof of some walker's mouth. In the winter time, the course tends to have lousy drainage between holes 2 and 3, so the ground is a bit swampy/mucky. Because this is a fairly novice level course, there also tends to be a lot of slower traffic and folks with their little kids out playing. Expect to do a lot of waiting on sunny weekend days, or even weekdays when the kiddos don't have school.
Other Thoughts: This is a great little course for a lunch-time quickie. I wouldn't count it for more than that. My office is close by, so I walk down there to play almost daily. It's good for a quick round.

Pros: Orchard is the perfect place to get mom and dad, your siblings and kids out on the course for a fun and quick round of family friendly golf. Navigation is about as easy as it comes and the park is in great condition with even walking paths covered with wood chips. Baskets, pads and tee signs are in great shape along with some of the more cleaner bathrooms I've seen in a public city park. It's not entirely open either, there are some trees that will challenge your tee shots.
Cons: This is a place where any advanced player will be throwing way under par every time they come out and the baskets are littered with ace signings. There is a major walking path near many holes so you may have to wait for people sometimes. It has a small parking lot and during beautiful weekends I'm not sure where you are going to park.
Other Thoughts: This is an excellent course for showing off the sport to someone new or for people with exercise restrictions who can't walk or play long periods. It's well maintained and I think I would feel comfortable playing in bare feet. Also I went when it was rainy for the last couple days and while the other area courses are under water this course was relatively dry.

Pros: -The course is clean and well maintained
-Walking or biking distance from the MAX (Quatama)
-Newer Baskets
-Cement Pads
Cons: -Very busy in the summer time
Other Thoughts: For what it is its a nice course. Its a good place to take somebody for the first time. If you live or work close by its worth checking out but beyond that it can become a real bore. If your on the westside of Portland and want to play a pitch & put just keep driving and hit Hornings Highland Course

Pros: - Not complicated/ easy to navigate
- Fun, short holes make for a relaxed and enjoyable round.
- Baskets, tees, and grounds are all maintained extremely well.
Cons: - Although the course is relaxed, it also isn't very challenging either.
- Most of the holes can be reached by advanced players with a putter or mid.
Other Thoughts: I would recommend this course to a beginner or someone fairly new to the game, but anyone semi-advanced will find this course to be unexciting and dull.

There isn't that much else to say about this course. It's short and not very technical.

Pros: Well maintained grounds and equipement. Easy to find. Easy to navigate. THPRD did a great job with their signs and tees.
Cons: Most of the holes are fairly short and not terribly technical. Experience players can play the whole course with one disc (Buzz or Coyote).
Other Thoughts: Another short course in town that is great to introduce new players, discs, or techniques on. It is also a great place to get your first ACE as there are several "short" holes.

 Fun little city park

Pros: - Great signage
- Cement tee pads
- Meticulously maintaned course. Mowed grass, trash cans everywhere
- Well placed trees that will really make the course better in 5-10 years when they mature fully.
- Easy to navigate
- Pretty setting
- Wood chips around all the baskets
Cons: - No real cons. It is what it is. A cool little 9 hole city park that everyone should be grateful exists for the community
- Could get dangerous on the last few holes with overlap with walking paths and conflicts with other park users on busier weekend days
Other Thoughts: - Ideal place to introduce friends or family to the game. 9 holes, easy to navigate, no real risk of losing discs. Just good family fun

Pros: Very good use of available space
Very well maintained
Very clean
Nice vibe
Good signage
Great tees
Great baskets
Awesome course for beginners
A superb place to introduce newbies to the sport - I saw a group of six start after us and 2 were players and the other 4 were playing for the first time--how cool is that :)
Trees planted strategically to create obstacles...as they mature, they will really change the dynamics of the course
There is some very nice wooded areas next to the course that may allow them to expand...hole 7 is a great example of the potential of this area
A good place to play with shots that you want to work on, like playing the WHOLE course forehanded
Cons: The cons that I found are not a fault of the design but more a result of the limited space and terrain
It could get a little "dangerous" if crowded...walking paths throughout the course and some of the fairways overlap or are very close to each other
Other Thoughts: This is a great warm up type of course and if you are doing a trip to Horning's, this is worth a stop and a few minutes of your time

 Nice quick, relaxed course

Pros: - short and sweet. great for a quick 9 on the way home.
- Park is clean and well-maintained
- perfect flat course for the novice.
Cons: - Hole number 2 needs a new sign. the hole has been moved but the same sign was used.
- no elevation changes, except on hole 7.
- minor nit: course is "stuffed" into a small city park.
Other Thoughts: There's really not a lot to say about this course. I use it often because it's a mile from my office. It's 9 holes, nothing over 300. I usually play two rounds in just over an hour.

There is one hole in the woods (#7, my favorite) with a slight elevation change, and the rest are flat.

This is a very popular and somewhat crouded course, yet everyone is relaxed and friendly, and ready to allow you to play through if they lose a disc or want to take a break.

The course does feel a little cramped at times. Discs(mine included) often land on the wrong fairway.
