We are TT members, living in the park system just about full time. We played a round first then went and asked for a map when we could not find most of the tees nor basket 1. They handed me a map, never asked for any $. It was after the busy season, but still I expected to pay something based on the reviews. I thought the course was better than Whaler's Rest (another TT park with disc golf) as this was a full fledged course. We liked it a lot. It is mostly flat but there are baskets in trees, around corners. We even lost 2 discs in the lake and managed to recover one after a couple of days of work to retrieve it.

Need to watch your step, not only are there gopher holes everywhere, there is also some street construction so there's some pipes and such strewn about. Two baskets are crooked. two holes play very close to the road, but I think its because they widened it.

I confirmed that the $10 day use fee is for non-campers and/or non-members only and does include use of all facilities. I updated the main description to reflect this clarification.

It is nice to play as often as you want since it is on the property and is not too long to walk there. We got a camp spot the furthest away (not intentionally) so we often drove to the lodge.

It is very beautiful in the fall. Great fall colors.

Coming from Illinois, I thought this course was decent and beautiful because it's right in the middle of a mountain valley. Cool views of the mountains, a small creek that flows through the back holes, some lakes that prove hazardous.

A few long bomber shots, some tight gaps to hit. Decent variety of shots.

It was empty when we played, but we were definitely there in the off-season.

I think the only issue here is that it's $10 to play. (The front desk hooked me up and only charged $5 per person)

A few holes didn't have any obstacles at all.

We happened to have a cabin rented right near this course, so we decided to walk over and play it. The $10 you pay will also get you access to their pool, mini golf, and pretty much anything else at Thousand Trails.

It's not the best course I've ever played and it's not too challenging, but hey, as an out of towner who just wanted to throw the disc around in a new environment, it was perfect for what we needed. There aren't many other courses in the area, so it was nice to have this course there for us to go nuts on and have some fun.

Located 30 minutes from downtown, Thousand Trails is a nine hole recreational course that plays through primarily open fields with the exception of holes two and seven which were more tightly wooded. Par for the course with its most recent layout is 27, with holes ranging anywhere from 228-415 ft. With the exception of a few holes, this course offers little challenge and lacks the fun factor. It is fun that they added this course to a campground but lacks creativity and difficulty. With the exception of landing in the bog on hole six and seven, there is little chance of losing a disc.

The course, with the exception of the grassy fields being mowed, has had very little upkeep/course maintenance and is not really worth one's time unless you are already camping here and/or looking to bag another course like myself.

Baskets were DISCatchers and were easy to spot from the tee but were outdated and worn. Numbers on the faceplate of the baskets were often facing the opposite direction from the tee making navigation even more difficult.

Tee pads were often overgrown and/or missing entirely and without a map it made the original pad difficult to spot. Fortunately, after minutes of searching, we could usually spot the area where the tee pads once due to the ground being warn away. However, it shouldn't have to be this hard to navigate when you are paying for a service and the fact that the ranger station didn't have a map is pretty bad.

I came to Thousand Trails while traveling to Leavenworth for my brother's 40th birthday and so we were already amped to drink and eat so we didn't really care that the disc golf was abysmal at best but the fact that it costs $10/person to play a terrible course is absolutely absurd! I have played some of the best pay to play courses in the U.S and have yet to pay this much for a course in this kind of shape. I am all for pay to play but expect some of the money to go back toward the actual course itself! If I wasn't trying to play every course in the state of WA I would have never made this stop. It was out of the way and left very little fulfillment in the end with the exception of checking off another course. Although the $10/person includes access to the multi-use area (swimming pool, putt-putt golf, picnic area, etc) most disc golfers are just looking to pass through quickly on their way to beer and brats.

NOTE: Word around the campfire is that they are looking to expand to 18 holes next summer. It would be nice if they could first take care of what they have and make it the best nine holes it can be with what land they have before they make nine more holes that are wide open and eventually become overgrown. I hope that if/when they do add the new nine that they do an overhaul of the course and update the tee boxes, signage, pins, and layout. There is potential here but for now it is not worth it. Trust me.

The course is at the 1000 Trails campground which is about a 30 minute drive from Leavenworth. The course is designed with the casual camper in mind. It's not designed to challenge or even entertain the typical disc player. The course plays around a couple of small ponds and by a very small creek, more like a ditch really. The baskets are Discatchers with numbers on the sides. Maps are available when you pay your $5. The course is pretty easy to follow using the map and holes description on the map. There is a variety of holes, some open, some around the water and one wooded.

The teepads are really bad. They're natural with small logs used for borders. This course will not challenge anyone who has played more than three times. The course is not worth paying $5 to play.

There are three Par 2's on the course. At most courses, they would be Par 3's and make for easy birdies. For the campers, I'd make them all Par 3's and maybe give them a chance for the occasional bird.

This course is a long way from anywhere. I'm glad it's not my home course. The drive here is only worth it if you ARE A SERIOUS COURSE BAGGER trying to hit all the courses in the state. If not, this is a good one to skip. But before I rip it too much, I'm happy that they have thought to put in this course for the campers. The sport of Disc Golf continues to grow.

WARNING! The baskets are not put out until April or May depending on the weather and whims of the maintenance staff. I don't know when they take them down but I'd call before driving all this way to play in late fall or early spring.

There is a nice pond on the course and a cute little stream running through most of the course too that affect your approach shots. The course flows around back to the parking lot. The baskets are in nice condition. There is little traffic from disc golfers on this course.

The drive is a long one even from downtown Leavenworth or any where on highway 2. $5 is a lot to play for this course. There are no signs or markers helping you along the way. Some of the holes are a little too wide open for my taste, if they had a better pin location it would make the hole much harder. The tee pads are horribly grown over and need to be cement anyway. There is an area on one of the holes where you can throw it into a small marshy area, but from the tee pad it just looks like bushes and you can easily lose a disc in there because you can't go after it.

Not really worth the trip or the money to play. A little tip: if you go on the weekend later in the day there is no guard for the retreat so playing is free but it still doesn't make it worth playing sadly.

There is a scenic pond bordering #6 & #7.

Shockingly bland and unimaginative layout, especially considering the beautiful surroundings which bordered the entire course. With the exception of your tee shot on #4, you will never have to think about which shot to play or what disc to use because throwing it straight down the wide and unobstructed fairways is all you need to do here.

The course has no tee signs and is very poorly marked. I spent over 10 minutes looking for the #6 tee pad and never found it...and #6 is supposed to be the signature hole here.

The dirt tee pads on every hole have hardened mounds of grass/weeds which are easily high enough to roll an ankle on. You will need to pay extremely close attention to where you step just to get proper footing...good form/footwork is an afterthought.

I shot even par and left the course feeling genuinely cheated out of my time and money, which is really saying something. Unless it were the only option around, I would not play this course even if it were free.

I'm sorry if this review comes across as overly negative, but I strongly feel the need to convey just how displeased I was with my experience at this course. If I had read a similar review I would have avoided it and played more rounds at Wenatchee, so hopefully someone else can do this in the future.

Good course with good potential. Long and challenging with good variety: wooded on #2, water on #'s 6&7, and a creek affecting several shots.

The suggested pars on the scorecard seem unreasonable even for elite players... We have adjusted the par comparable (modestly) to be more consistent with the Wenatchee course. Uneven tee boxes are a problem, and some areas of the course do not seem to be mowed more than once per week, although the grass fairways are not 'thick'.

Be sure to get a scorecard/map at the Thousand Trails on-site store before your round, as it makes navigating the course much easier. I am in contact with the manager and hope to work with him over the next year to realize the course's potential. Like another reviewer, I did not like this course the first time I played it, but I have enjoyed it more and more every time I play it, and hope to contribute to its potential.
