Pros: Multiple tees on almost all holes.
The course is very open in general, though trees still come into play on most of the holes.
The course is very well maintained as it is a city/school park.
There are restrooms and a shelter on site.
Cons: Mostly a flat course, with only a couple holes utilizing elevation.
My biggest issue with this course is the heavy traffic. There are a couple little league fields, a soccer field, playground equipment, etc. in this park, and there can be quite a few people around. A couple problems are created from this. Holes 1 and 12 make it very easy for a RHBH thrower to throw onto a baseball field, and one of the longest two holes occasionally has small children playing in the fairway.
Another detail is that some of the signs are in the wrong place as a hole was removed before adding the others to upgrade to 12 holes.
Other Thoughts: This course started as a 9 hole course, recently receiving an upgrade to a 12 hole. It is an enjoyable course if you can avoid the busy times, which is usually late afternoons, though it is never a sure thing that you'll miss some random event being held there. If you live west of Des Moines, I would say it is more enjoyable than the courses in Adel or Dallas Center, but if you are traveling through you would find a much better better course by playing Ewing, Pickard, Grandview, or Walnut Ridge.

Pros: Elevation, Rick Reward shots, Some longer holes where you can really let a drive rip.
Cons: not a lot of variety, a few too many holes where people are walking/playing near the holes
Other Thoughts: fun 12 hole course, yardage mis-marked

Pros: Newer baskets. Some interesting shots available. A variety of hole lengths. Concrete pads. Water in play on some holes.
Cons: A bit righty-biased (a number of right-to-left favored holes with not as many left-to-right to balance out). Several "tweener" holes, or holes of such a distance that they are too long to be good par 3 but too short to be legitimate par 4. Some holes have play equipment in play.

Pros: Several longer holes, park is well kept up, parking, shelter and restrooms available. Several open fields nearby for practice.
Cons: Not much hole variety, plays near and partially through a playground.
Other Thoughts: This is an open and many times windy course. It's a good opertunity to let some rip while still playing the wind.
