New Course Coming... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 23, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This course will be incorporated into a brand new 27 hole championship course.

Cons:

There are a total of 18 placements this course but only the front 9 are marked clearly.

Other Thoughts:

CenCal Renegades Disc Golf Club is currently in negotiations with the City of Paso Robles to obtain this area for a complete 27 hole Championship course. This 'totem' style course was designed years ago by two homeless gentlemen from my understanding. This course will be extended and redesigned into the final 9 holes of the new course.

Incomplete Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Mar 7, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

-The only good thing about this course is that it has great potential because of the terrain, trees, and water hazards.

Cons:

-A guide is definitely needed to maneuver the course
-Stakes are the only thing that indicant where the tee area is, which I could only find for # 1 & #2
-The pins are homemade and need to be redone for most of them are falling over
-The area is not kept up so everything is overgrown which makes some shots extremely difficult
-There are no facilities to speak of
-The area is also used by off-road motorcycles so it can be dangerous since we use the same paths

Other Thoughts:

Like I said before, the course has great potential but its really lacking right now. It seems like somebody just went out and did it over a weekend. I'm sure he/she (or they) had the best intentions but it's pretty bad.
I was following the description on the website which helped some, until I reached the end of hole 6. After that, numbers 7 thru 9 were nowhere to be seen. I walked up and down the whole area and I couldn't find anything. So, due to me not being able to finish the course, I deemed this course 'Abysmal'.
Some other aspects that need rethinking is the hole placements. It seemed to range between very easy and 'you have to be kidding me'. For example, hole 5 has you shoot from a path on the side of a hill (unmarked) to the bottom of the creek area. I tried to pull out every shot in the book (that I know of) but nothing seemed to work. You pretty much had to shoot above the trees and let it fall somewhere above the pin and hope that it 'blinkos' its way to it. #6 is better but just as difficult.
To sum up, I took it upon myself to check out this course and provide some pictures for you all. Sorry I couldn't find 7 thru 9 but if I find myself in the area, I will definitely give it another try. This course is definitely not a destination spot until whoever designed it gave it some much needed TLC.
Update: Someone has seemed to fix up some of the pins. I was passing by on the highway so my judgment could be off. I will make another trip soon and give an update.
