Pros: - Great location near I-25, and easy to find
- navigates pretty easily, and decent signage on all holes except #9
- nice scenic views
- tee pads make for an easy drive despite the hillside
Cons: - not many benches or trash cans, no bag holders
- not a lot of shade available, plan accordingly
- lots of broken glass around the course/rocks can eat up discs
- on the short side
Other Thoughts: I stopped by on my way to Denver - the course is really convenient for a quick 9 hole round when passing through - I don't think it took me a half hour to finish it. It also affords some nice views of the surrounding area plus if you're not from the area it might be interesting to play around cacti.

The course plays up, down, and all around a small outcrop. #1 takes you up, #2-#7 go down the other side and around, #8 takes you back up and #9 brings you back down the side you came up.

Despite having no trees there are numerous shrubs littering the course large enough to block your view of the basket. This is where your finesse comes into play. If the course had some mando's it'd probably knock it up a notch on the difficulty level, because it could be argued on a few holes that a real high hyzer is all you need to get you in putting range. That being said if I lived in Trinidad I'd be pretty happy with the course, especially knowing there's another nearby in Raton. If you're like me - just passing through - and have an hour to kill, maybe want to stretch your legs, than it's definitely worth the stop as Trinidad itself is a nice town.

Pros: Fun and challenging even though all the holes are quite short. Lots of elevation changes and as a player not from the area, it was fun to trudge through the terrain (rocks and geologic features I am not used to seeing at home) I feel the designer did a good job with the land and terrain available.
Cons: All the holes being so short a player with a good thumber will have a good chance at easy birdie on almost every hole. For those who don't use a thumber the holes are really tight and exciting.

Pros: For a 9 hole course, this is amazing! Many kinds of shots are required for this course. The first hole is scary, and stays that way throughout the course. Though most of the holes are short, they go straight uphill! Holes 1, 7 and 8 are very challenging in this regards. Hole 2 gives great views of the surrounding mountains. The middle holes are more tame, but still have plenty of trees to get in the way. A well chosen line and throw will be rewarded with a birdie. For the land that is used, it is very well thought out. Baskets in great shape. Teesigns on every hole with great info on them.
Cons: This course definately has a trash problem on some of the holes. Why can't people use them? This definately takes away from the experience. There are rubber mats on half the holes that are not even, but not that big of a deal. One of the trails from 9 crossees the 2nd fairway, but this is clearly marked and don't see that it is much of an issue.
Other Thoughts: This is probably the best 9 hole course I have played. Extreme elevation changes make it a challenge to say the least. On the downhill shots I would suggest using a putter only so your drives are not carried away by the wind. I like how the middle of the course is flatter and a little easier. Navigation wasy easy due to the great signs. I never thought I would give a 4/5 disc to a 9 hole course, but here it is. I would definately play this course again.

Pros: The conditions of the equipment left me very impressed. My son and I recently went back here after not having been for a couple of years. The course still looks new. The baskets are clean and in great condition. The tees all still have signs that you can read. And there was no graffiti or trash. The trees have gotten bigger, which adds some difficulty. The tees are rubber mats bordered by timbers. And the baskets are DISCatchers. Ace chances are high with no hole over 250 feet.
There's a trash can at #1 and #5, plus a bench on #5. Restrooms are less than 200 feet away. The course is part of a sports complex with the 2nd largest skatepark in CO, ballfields, and a waterpark.
Cons: The main issue here continues to be mud. The course is separated from the parking lot by a ditch which is always muddy. And hole #8 never seems to dry out. Some holes force you high, which can lead to some discs in trees which are very hard to see. The DISCatchers are nice, however they only have a single layer of outer chains, no inners. The 1st tee has issues with dirt washing down from above. I think a few lines of rocks up the hill a bit could solve this problem. The tee on #3 has an erosion issue under the back corner. We piled up a ton of rocks but it will need dealt with soon. #4's tee is on a service road and is all dirt and ruts. #9's tee appears to have been moved back 10' or so. The ground under the mat is very lumpy. I'd love to see this course expand to 18 holes if they could find the space. Then it would be a little more worth the drive. It is the only course around for miles. The negatives boil down to some bad tees, ATV tracks and ruts, and MUD.
Other Thoughts: #1 is a steep uphill zig-zag with lots of trees lining the fairway.
#2 is flat. Overshooting is punishing.
#3 is a right-turning downhill.
#4 is a crappy tee, downhill surrounded by trees.
#5 Bench and trash can at tee. Fairway is almost gone. lots of trees.
#6 Fairly straight, rolling mini black sand dunes.
#7 Uphill at basket. Fairway has run-off.
#8 Very short, very steep. Watch your footing!
After #8 you cross over #2, so watch out for discs.
#9 Lumpy tee, downhill. Basket surrounded by trees except tee side. Overshooting is punishing. Accuracy is rewarded greatly! If you are passing by Trinidad, definitely stop here. Very quick course, but very fun.
