Pros:

This course is set up once a year for the Texas State Disc Golf Championships. It features several signature holes including the "Texas" island hole and the "Dragon" hole. This course will challenge your long game and your shorter technical game. Birdies are out there but like many Texas courses it favors players with big arms. The technical aspect of the course is improved though the use of a couple double mando holes (while some many not like the "artificial" feel of this, the mandos are they for safety as well as challenge).

Cons:

Many long time players will tell you that the Tourney course has been watered down over the years, which is true to some degree. The parks department has mandated some changes for safety reasons and the historically brutal "Dragon" hole is now a shadow of the former beast.

Other Thoughts:

The "Tourney" course lies physically between the Wilmont and Powell courses and steals some of the holes from the standard Powell configuration (Powell #8-9, 12-14). "Tourney" has gone though many evolutions and the 2010 version features a significantly improved "Ampitheatre" hole which is now fair and challenging. The "Dragon" has been shortened but going for a '2' is now an impressive 400+' water carry with OB on all sides of the landing zone. "Tourney" has some holes that I really enjoy, like #4 & #5. #4 throws 495' from the top of the ampitheatre hill towards the parking lot below, you really want to crush a drive here to get you in close position for an upshot because the basket is nestled in a tiny outcropping of fair territory that is bounded on three sides by OB. #5 has an island fairway with an island green beyond the fairway. You have to decide whether you play a safe tee shot to the fairway island or go for the island green with a possible skip shot off the parking lot. The wetlands pond is well used on holes #14 and #15 to create a birdie hole and a tricky par 3 respectively.
