Just became an 18 basket course!
Pros: One of my favorite 9 hole courses just became a really cool 18 hole course. The holes are shorter (accurate drives can set you up for some birdies on many of the holes) but they are more technical than the old course was. There are more trees involved, even in the open field area.
They kept the first and last holes the same (old hole #9 is now #18) which is nice. (I liked the ease of #1 to try for an ace right off the start, and the huge drop off the hill at #18 is just a gas). Hole #4 (which was old hole #2) is still pretty much the same... only the basket placement changed. All the other holes are different.
What makes this course great is the basket placement. The #12 basket is right at the edge of a drop off so you have to approach carefully, and in the open area up top, the baskets are tucked inside a few small trees to add just a hint of difficulty.
There are new starting lines so the old worn out areas are no longer used.
Cons: The signs are not the greatest and some don't have any, although it is fairly easy to find your way around the course. Maybe there is a plan to improve the signage, since they just changed it from a 9 to 18 holes in the last 2 weeks.
They just have starting lines (white tubes) in the grass, so no starting boxes (not necessarily a Con for me).
The holes are shorter so people looking for long 500-600' holes will be disappointed. (Definitely not a Con for people like me that can't drive like the pros.)
Other Thoughts: All in all, I think this is a great upgrade. They sure made it a lot more interesting.
