Great Course! Definitely worth traveling to
Pros: Course is in excellent shape. Baskets are all in really good condition, concrete tee pads, signs at each tee showing where the basket locations are for that hole as well as a photo indicating where the baskets can be located. This made finding the basket super simple. The course primarily plays through the Colorado River valley. There are a lot of trees and natural obstacles that make the course very interesting. Hole 4 had to be my favorite with the down the hill shot around the cliff face.
Cons: The first 2 and last 2 holes are basically just straight shots (Oh look! There's the basket way out in front of me with nothing in the way). If it has snowed recently, trekking down the path along hole 4 could be very dangerous. The river is near by but doesn't come into play at all (which I suppose could be a pro if you can't control your shots well). It's a bit of a walk from the parking area to the first tee but you can use this as warm up time as there is a practice basket near the first tee.
Other Thoughts: Don't let the first two holes fool you. I was pretty disappointed after driving from Grand Junction where I was staying. I was thinking, "I drove all this way for this?" But then you hit hole 3 with a shot over a berm and then down a hill (almost aced this one!) and then hole 4 goes down into the valley and that's when the fun really begins!
The signs at the tees could use an indicator as to where the next tee is but it wasn't too hard to navigate for a first timer. It would be nice if the course map was available here but again, with the tee signs, it wasn't too hard to navigate.
All in all, this is a great course and if anywhere close to it again, I'll make the drive to play it.
