Pros:

Good signage, course was easy to follow once I found hole 1.
Cement Tee pads
baskets in good shape
Some Elevation on several holes
Bathrooms next to hole 8

Cons:

Hyzer hyzer hyzer hyzer hyzer hyzer hyzer hyzer almost hyzer
roads come into play on a couple of holes
picnic tables come into play on a couple of holes
playground comes into play on hole 9, BAD.

Other Thoughts:

This is not a pitch and putt course, but it is not a long course either. My biggest issue with this course is that every hole can be thrown with a righty hyzer shot.

You start off with hole 1, it is a blind shot as the basket is over the edge of the hill. You do not want to throw left of the basket as your disc may carry OB into the lake.

Then a longer walk over to hole 2 that is a hyzer up the hill. It plays longer due to the hill but it is not a long hole.

Then comes the big problem, holes 3, 4, 5, 6, all throw along the park boundaries. Every one of of these are hyzer shots of different lengths. Hole 6 being the best of the bunch as the basket is down the hill on a hill with the road to the right, a creek behind it and at the edge of play, the park boundary fence to your left.

Then a boring open shot across with the flag poll as your only obstacle.

Holes 8 and 9 are parallel to each other for the most part.

hole 8 right at the bathrooms, not any real tree's in the way.

Hole 9 is the only hole that you really don't want to hyzer at the basket. There is a playground on the right. It is also one of the longer holes as it is slightly uphill.

Would I play here again? No, as I have stated on other courses, this is a basic 9 hole course. Good to get people out. But it is a course for someone like me to bag and move on. I will never play here again.

Great small course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jan 12, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Baskets in fantastic shape
Tee pads concrete
Beautiful setting
Beginner friendly
Family friendly
Signage
Fishing, playground, walking all around area (no swimming in the lake, due to city water supply)

Cons:

Short tee pads
Cars driving through park could be at risk of an errant disc.
City park that can get crowded during the summer (including car shows)

Pro's/seasoned players should avoid this course.

Other Thoughts:

Good small course for beginners and kids. Otherwise stay away.

However, this is a great little course to bring three discs and work on your skills. Leave the bag in your car.
Short course...will make you feel good.

Great signs, tee pads, baskets.
It's a short course, great for a beginner to learn the sport.
Great "lunch hour" course. You would have time to play it twice in one hour.
Only 9 holes, but if you had the park to yourself, you could get creative and make longer holes.

I always check out the smaller towns 9 hole courses. I have found some gems, and this one is another to add to your collection. Much like Broken Arrow, Sapulpa, OSU-Tech, Pawnee, etc you always want to check out small towns nine hole courses.

Seasoned players should stay away from this course, it's really for newbies/families/amateurs getting into the sport.

Beautiful! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

This is one of the most relaxing settings for disc golf I've ever experienced. Such a nice view, great non-dg amenities, and just enough challenge to make it interesting.

Very nice baskets, signs, and pads.
Pretty easy to follow.
Extremely family friendly.

Cons:

Well, this course doesn't offer a whole lot of variety. Of the 9, 5 holes strongly favor RHBH and the other 4 are pretty straight. Not really any big distance or outstanding holes.

The park seems to attract a lot of people, causing frustration at times and probably injury sooner or later.

Other Thoughts:

I enjoyed playing here with a group of friends. If you're looking for challenge, go elsewhere. If you just want to relax and enjoy a casual round, this is perfect!

Nice picturesque park by the city lake 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 3, 2013 Played the course:once

Pros:

Signage and baskets were good and there were painted rungs on the basket to direct you to the next hole location.
This is a well maintained park and there are other amenities here such as playground, picnic tables, etc. Has some elevation for a park style course and the flow is logical.
Beginner friendly, advanced players can work on their midrange game here.
Grounds were litter free upon my visit and there were trash cans here and there to help with the trash problem, always a plus.

Here are my hole observations:
1-plays uphill with the lake on the left
2-uphill shot with a walking path on the left hand side
3-has trees on the left side of the fairway with the walking path on the right side, plays downhill from the mid fairway point to the basket
4-short uphill shot, basket out in the open and trees on the left hand side
5-short hole with a low ceiling off the box, slopes downhill a bit
6-plays downhill with a road on the right hand side, does have a drainage ditch behind the bakset
7-very open hole
8-uphill has a road on your right
9-plays over a little ridge with a low ceiling mid fairway to contend with. Basket out in the open.

Cons:

The walk from 1's basket to 2's tee is rather lengthy and slows the flow down a bit. Also from 7's basket to 8's tee is a bit of a walk as well.
Tee pads are a little on the short side. Walking paths and roads come into play on a few holes so be alert.
There is a bit of a walk from 9's basket to the parking lot.

Other Thoughts:

This is a very nice little park style course that plays by a nice little city lake. The views are very good here. You are playing in a multi-use park so being on your toes before you throw is a good idea. This is a very beginner friendly course that will provide you with a few lines to hit. More advanced players are going to want to run the chains here. This would be a good place to play a relaxing casual round and maybe take a swim or have a cook out afterwards. A nice little course if you are passing through the area.

Good, not great 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 19, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Concrete tees
Good signs
New baskets
Slight elevation changes
Ace runs

Cons:

It's 9 holes.
There's always people on the fairways. (Picnic tables right by the basket on hole 3)
Hole 8's basket is right next to a busy playground which discourages going for the ace.
The course is repetitive.

Other Thoughts:

It's not a bad course, it just isn't all that great. It's usually pretty windy out there, if there were other closer courses it might be worth playing. There is a very strict "Do not get in the water" rule so be careful or have a retriever handy.

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 19, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Great use of obstacles, offers challenges to any player, utilizes open space very well for the course to avoid hitting non-players in the park (except hole 9), good-looking and detailed signs.

Cons:

At times, finding the next hole can be a little confusing and sometimes inconvenient (i.e. 1 to 2, 7 to 8, and 8 to 9) but after playing through the course once it will be easy to navigate. Hole 9 is right by a playground for small children, so it can be a little hard to play when there are kids playing on it.

Other Thoughts:

This course is awesome! It's great for new and experienced players alike. It's a simple 9-hole, Par-3 course but is cleverly designed. For the most part, it's secluded from the other areas of the park. It offers interesting challenges, such as:

-Holes 3, 4 and 9 uses the trees as excellent obstacles.
-Holes 5 and 6 both have a gate to the left that can be a challenge to avoid throwing your disc over, and even during the times you can't avoid it, it makes for fun and challenging tosses.
-Holes 7 and 9 put your power throws to the test.

Though I listed some cons, in my opinion the pros outweigh them by a long shot. This course is fun! I love it and I can't wait to play on it some more. It's short and sweet, but very fun.

Has Potential, Needs Improvement 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 3, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Great for a 9-hole course. Lots of elevation changes and great intermediate shots that are tons of funs. Set-up for right-handers.

Cons:

Course needs to be a full 18. Set-up is mostly for right-handers. Tee boxes are awkward, too short and not wide enough, which makes run-ups very difficult and messes up timing and rhythm.

Other Thoughts:

If the course is extended the tee boxes should seriously be given a ton more consideration. Different basket locations are possible on some of the front holes and should be considered.

Stay Right 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 31, 2011 Played the course:once

Pros:

Closest course to home, quiet serene setting with little foot or vehicle traffic. Relaxed course with easy to mid level difficulty.

Cons:

Listening to trains like anywhere in Claremore. #6 had a large dirt pile directly in middle of fairway forcing play out of bounds.

Other Thoughts:

On #9 stay right. I bounced off a tree and rolled down the hill into the lake. It's too deep there to see the discs let alone retrieve them.
