Pros: good location and easy to get to with concrete T-pads and all.
Cons: BAD LAYOUT! The park is too small for 18, be careful when you are around playgrounds. There are some decent holes
Other Thoughts: it's in a great park next to the southeast missouri campus and Capahas stadium

Pros: In town. Jimmy Johns down the street.
Cons: Obstructions include things like BBQ pavilions and children playgrounds. Hole 5 is directly in line of a large price of play equipment.
Other Thoughts: Layout could have been changed to create a great course without having to cross roads or play thru toddlers. Bad design.

Pros: -Cape Girardeau's first attempt at a course
-Good variety of short and longer holes
Cons: -Errant throws can reach the lake or busy streets
-A few holes play across park roads and over parked cars
-Very close to a few playgrounds and pavilions
-Some sketchy characters in the park
Other Thoughts: Patience is the key word when playing this course. If a shot looks "dangerous" near a playground while children are playing there, simply take caution with a wider flight path around. This course can be difficult if played aggressively. However, know your options. With two courses to play in town, play capaha in the mornings and through the week when the park is less busy. Be glad that this is a busy park where many people who have never seen the sport can be introduced to discing. I have had many park people stop and ask questions about the sport and I encourage them all to check out the local disc dealers to get hooked as well!

Pros: What everyone else said.
Cons: What everyone else said.
Other Thoughts: They tried right? Good location for students, that's about it. I have heard of people striking children and moving vehicles on this course, and other park goers do not seem to appreciate the course. The only reason I didn't give it a 0 is because it exists I guess. They could put those nice baskets elsewhere.

Pros: Very nice baskets and tees.
Multiple flight paths for every hole.
Beautiful location.
Cons: EVERY hole has menacing drawbacks. You are either launching across parked cars, toward or along side busy streets, through or at playgrounds and pavilions.
Other Thoughts: Definitely do not go out of your way to play the course. Also, the locals like to drive into you without any warning. I've met a few cool heads there, but a lot of the time the bro's are just disrespectful and don't care if they fire a disc into your group.

Pros: This course has some really nice baskets and pads. It is the only disc golf course within a pretty good clip, and a first for the area.
Cons: This is a very busy park, and you will have a hard time playing the whole course without getting in someone's way or someone being in your way.

Many of the holes are downright dangerous for new players. Some holes can bring Broadway (a busy, major street) into play. Holes 1, 2, 8, 9, and 10 all play across city streets that actually have traffic and parking on them.

I am a very new player. Here is what my first (admittedly bad) game was like:

Hole 1: Threw disc onto West End Blvd
Hole 2: Threw disc into (locked) ball field. Had to climb the fence.
Hole 3: Almost hit a guy (and his dog) in a pavilion. Thankfully he was not angry.
Hole 4: No kids in the playground, thankfully. Somehow managed to throw the disc into the street.
Hole 5: Guy teeing off of hole 4 had to wait for us to go by, because the teebox is in the middle of the fairway for hole 5.
Hole 6, 7, 8: No major incidents
Hole 9: Much more experienced player chucked his disc into a VERY busy Broadway off the tee behind me. Thankfully, I did not have this problem.
Hole 10: Van was parked right in the straight shot from the tee to the basket. Luckily, I missed it.
Other Thoughts: With some rework this course could be good. It needs a lot fewer baskets in my opinion, and they could stand to move things closer together. Hole 1 and 2 do not need to cross the street, they are plenty long without it, for example.

Update: Hole 2 has been moved to the other side of the street. This helps a ton with the hole's practicality.

Pros: -Mixture of easy and tough holes
-Concrete tee boxes
-Discatcher baskets
-Signs at each tee
-Only course within 35 miles
-Shade available on most holes
Cons: -Signs too close to tee box
-Play over roadways on holes 1, 2, 9, and 10
-Playground in play on holes 4 and 5 and even in play on 8 if first throw goes past basket
-Bball court easibly reachable on hole 1
-Busiest park in town
-Poor Tee box placement/Pin placement on many holes
-Lack of trash receptacles/water fountains
Other Thoughts: Considering this was Cape Girardeaus first attempt at a disc golf course, I'd say they didn't do too bad. As stated, if your disc tends to break left, the bball court is definitely in the way on hole 1. Hole 2 you basically throw blindly along a roadway. Hole 3 has a pavillion that could present beginners problems. Holes 4 and 5 not only play past playground, but also share fairways. Holes 6 and 7 are great, along with 8 if you dont overdrive your first shot. Hole 9 is challenging but aceable, playing over a roadway closer to the basket. Worst hole by far is 10, due to the roadway, pavillion, and frequently parked cars along the roadway. The best route on the hole plays directly over the road that in most cases has 4+ cras parked along the side. The pavillion is reachable on your first throw as well. If people don't know what you are playing or they simply think the park is there privilege over theirs, you could run into some trouble. On more than one occassion patrons of the pavillion have come close to starting fights over discs coming too close.

All in all, I feel a few tweaks could greatly improve the course. Considering it was the first go at a course in Cape though, I feel it could definitely be alot worse.

Pros: - Only course in the area
-Nice mix of challenging and easy holes
Cons: -Layout could be better
-tee signs right on tee box, gets in way
-no pars listed
-4th and 5th hole result in players throwing at each other or waiting
Other Thoughts: 1st tee box should be moved east of its location between 2 rows of trees this would create a line to throw with a low ceiling at some points and take the often bust basketball court out of play.
Some trees need trimmed or removed to make the course playable for the beginner particularly around 4, 5 and the 2nd tee box (more so for discs not getting stuck in tree on bad bounces)
10th tee box should be moved to east of tree to give more than 1 playable line. Also, the 10th tee could be moved somewhere near the old pool which would make the hole safer to play.

-Good first effort by the city and University rumors point to a second course in the works at Kiwanis park better location with potential for a challenging 18 hole course

Pros: concrete pads
pretty well maintained
nice innova baskets
you finish where you start
can get a pretty quick round in
Cons: Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau, MO. It is close to the local university and there tends to be a lot of players that will throw discs until they get the shot they want. Then the other members of the group proceed in the same manner. It is 10 holes. There is goose effluvia throughout the course. The park has a bit of a seedy atmosphere. You probably won't get mugged. Probably. Basket 1 has a well used basketball court to the left at around 200-250 feet, a side walk to the right, and you must throw across a busy road and a sidewalk to get to the basket. I have seen people playing basketball there tagged a few times. It was not pretty. Hole 2 makes it really easy to hit the same road, has a horrible blind spot for gauging oncoming traffic on said road, and has a row of houses on the right. Basket three is is pretty safe, except for the pavillion that is right in the middle of a RHBH line. Oh, and it is at the top of a hill, so you cannot see if anyone is in there and they cannot hear you yell "fore" if the throw is errant. The top of the hill is also a popular place for people to sit and get plastered while watching basball games. The love to heckle, but none have taken me up on my offer to come down and try throwing a disc. Hole 4 throws right by a well used playground on the right( the tee pad is pointed almost directly at the playground), the fairway for basket 5 on the left. You often end up in a Mexican stand off with people throwing down from tee 5. Basket 5 is basically a mirror of hole 4, so you have the playground on your left as well as #4 tee pad well within range and in an area that discs fly through. I have seen several players land in that playground or send discs flying into the playground equipment. I personally saw a child decapitated. Hole 6 is not bad, as long as you do not fade off to the right and end up in the road or hit vehicles lines up at the stop light. Or pedestrians on the sidewalk. Or go long and end up in a road or parking lot for a local head shop. It was a really dodgy thing hitting vehicles parked at an establishment that sold bath salts. No joke. Basket 7 Throws down the length and across a sidewalk, with a busy road to the right. Basket 8 is the safest on the course. It is only about 150 feet, so going long into the playground behind it is generally not an issue. Hole 9 has parking to the left and you must throw across a road to get to the basket. Again, a very busy road is off to the left and usually you are throwing into a headwind. Guess what happens next? Hole 10 forces you to throw across a road yet again, but there is usually a long row of vehicles park along the road that you have to throw over. Many, many vehicles have been hit and many, many arguments have been had over this. In all of this, I have neglected to include how busy the park is and that people are a constant obstacle on any given hole at any given time. I do not have anything against homeless people and will often throw them a buck or two to help out with whatever it is they feel they need. The problem is that you do it a couple of times and you become a mark and they will repeatedly ask you. After a while it became kind of harassingly depressing. Basket 10 has a tree the they use for shelter sometimes. I have found hypodermic needles on hole 10 as well. I doubt it is from disc golfers. I have heard it is hard to tie off, boot up, and throw.
Other Thoughts: just bad. too many things can go wrong to make it worth the effort. with a redesign it could be passable and safe. This course is the worst that I have ever played from a safety aspect. It would be a good course if you could remove all of the unsafe features, however.

Pros: Nice Disc Catcher baskets, nice pads
Cons: The concept of this course is horrendous. The park is far too small to safely have a course, but politics and money can make for strange bedfellows. The fact that there are 3 holes which play within 40' of playgrounds, 3 which cross busy-at-times roads (one of which crosses a private driveway also), and 4 that are very near a major road should be enough. It's dangerous in many ways, and this has been presented to the proper people in the city.
Other Thoughts: There have been reworks made to make it a bit less dangerous.
