Dick hart park (heffley) 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 29, 2017 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Fun, beautiful location

Cons:

Hard to navigate even with a map. Not easy to find all the logs with the hole carved in (Still never found any marker for 14 just threw from a spot that looked like it was a tee box)

Other Thoughts:

If you are on your way to Sun peaks and are itching for a round or all the parks are closed in Kamloops because of fire ratings then it's fun but not worth going out of the way for

Neglected 2+ years drive by

Pros:

This course is in a beautiful location on the way up to the mountains in Sun Peaks. Some of the holes have tee signs cut into logs. The course is clean and it seems to have a few resident deer that like to hang around the area.

Cons:

Like the title suggests it seems that this park has not seen much care in a while. The park just seemed like it has been abandoned. This courses layout is confusing and has some blind basket locations. I don't always consider that a bad thing, but I had to search for way too long for some baskets. The home made "tonals" or tone poles make up all the baskets just like a previous reviewer mentioned. Some of these are hard to find because of the new growth pine trees that make visibility difficult. I also am not a fan of tonals, but that might just be my preference. Some of the poles are a bit banged up as well.

Other Thoughts:

Make sure you check out the course map that is available on this site under the "Links/Files" link. This will help you tremendously. I would not drive out of your way to check this out. If you are on your way up to Sun Peaks and are really itching to throw you may get a little fix, but don't have high expectations.

Ouch Speargrass 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 3, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

We had it all to ourselves. This is probably typical here. The open nature of the vegetation makes it easy to find the bad throws.
Most of the tees are marked, but few of the holes. This can make choosing the right target a bit confusing in a few places.

Cons:

At the beginning of August, horrible speargrass, needle and thread grass, and a few burrs. Expect to fill your socks and shoes with 1000's of miserable, sharp seeds from the grasses. Shouldn't be a problem earlier in the year before the seeds ripen.
Course is played little so there are no worn in paths from the tee to the target and navigation can be hard.

Other Thoughts:

It is always interesting to try a new course, and I will play this again... in the spring. We did not play the first 3 holes because found the 4th tee first. Still don't know where #1 is.
The really long holes tend to follow the old roads.
We only found tonals; where are the baskets?

Keeps getting better. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 3, 2012 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Nice little course designed in a local wooded park 15 minutes away from Kamloops.

Nice chainsawed log hole signs were in the process of being completed. (I think that they have been completed)

Easy disc lines as it is mostly on flat ground and in sparce forest.

Nice "off the beaten path" course where you won't run into anyone else... ever, so bring a friend if you want company.

No wait times.

Good for all levels of ability.

Cons:

No maps on site. Make sure to download the map from the DGCR site links if it's your first time.

No water. This area gets hot in the summer so prepare.

Somewhat difficult to navigate on your first time. (The new tee signs will help once they are done)

Due to the Pine Beetle kill there is lots of dead wood on the ground. Bring good footwear and watch you ankles.
