Small Town Recreational Course Fills A Need!

Pros: I see that city councilmen designed the course. Not bad for a politician. When the nearest course is 44 miles away, this course doesn't have to be great, just enjoyable. This is a true rec course. Only # 8 forces you to throw anything other than a straight wide, open drive. There is a nice mix of distances ranging from # 1's 183' to # 5 at an estimated length of about 500'. The tee sign says it's 249'. The # 5 basket is extremely difficult to spot. It sits way down at the far end of the lot. # 9 does force you to throw around a pole right in front of the basket.
The pars on the signs are elementary/middle school level like # 2's 210' par 4. Ignore them or embrace them and go for the Eagles. Whatever floats your boat, right?
Cons: Unimaginative design! But what else could councilmen Krebs have done. The flat terrain doesn't really lend itself to creative disc golf design.
# 3 does make you throw over the small picnic shelter. There were three of the locals enjoying their beer when I played. I finally secured their attention and fired away. After that, they were pretty interested in what the hell I was doing out there. I don't think they see many players here. One of the group even asked to throw with me on # 9. I crushed him, by one stroke. But he had a grand old time anyway.
Other Thoughts: Without any competition, Hardin Community DGC stands alone at the top, here in Hardin. If I lived here, I'd be a regular. I'd have to keep practicing in order to stave off the drunken local player.

Good Little Leg Stretcher/Local Rec Course

Pros: There are some baskets, in a grassy field, with decent tee signs. Nothing earth shattering, but better than nothing if you live nearby, or are driving by looking for a leg stretching round.
They have a nice course name sign by hole 1. (But it has no map or other important info on it).
Cons: Mostly a pitch and putt in a grassy field with a few trees and picnic areas for some shot shaping.
Other Thoughts: Can be played safari style. May be a good course to introduce new players.

Fun little town course
Pros: A course in Hardin?! Sweet! 9 open holes that give a chance to ace it on each drive! Still haven't, but keeps things exciting. Baskets are great. Simple fun.
Cons: Can't complain!
More people need to play!
Other Thoughts: Grew up in this town and this open lot was always vacant. Couldn't believe how perfectly the course fits. Only wish it would have been there when I was a kid.
