Pros: -Concrete Tee Pads
-Decent Signage (with a couple of exceptions)
-Decent Baskets
-Good Mix of open/wooded and up/down
Cons: -Last 3 holes seem tacked on for extra length
-#10 took a minute to find (tee is up the hill)
-Pars on 16, 18 are unrealistic (443/495 Par 3?)
-Distance on signs for #4 and #6 way off
-Down/Up/Down on #11, 12, 13 very steep (could be slick in wet conditions)
-Long walk up the hill after 18 to parking area
-Few trashcans / no benches
Other Thoughts: Sheldon Park DGC is located in its namesake park just west of Humboldt, IA. The course begins just north of the southern campground area (which does not come into play). The first 15 holes are all relatively short (under 310', most under 200') and then the last 3 are all over 350' (with #16 at 443' and #18 at 495'). The elevation is used fairly well, but the down/up/down of 11-13 is pretty steep and I can see issues in wet weather. There is also steep down on #2 and up on #9. I can see the lower parts getting flooded in high flood times, but the water does not come into play on a normal basis. Was enjoying a nice 3 under round until those last 3 holes. Ending on #18 was also a long walk back up the hill to the parking area. A slight reconfigure on 16-18 (or more appropriate pars), fixing the length on the #4 and #6 tee signs, maybe some added steps on the steep parts and some benches / trashcans would all add to the rating here. Still, I did enjoy my round, for the most part, and would play again, if in the area.

Pros: - Baskets in good shape
- Concrete tees
- Good signage (but some distances are off)
- Decent flow of play
Cons: - On the short side
- Some holes play along walking paths, which could be a safety issue.
- A long walk from 18 to the starting point
Other Thoughts: This is a county park that has a campground next to it. Although the camping doesn't really come into play, there are enough other park users that might make a few holes require some extra care to play at times.

It's a course that has a lot of short holes, though makes up for the lack of length by requiring some finesse. There are several holes in a row that throw either straight up or straight down to the point that it seemed repetitive.

I appreciated having the front 9 finish close to the starting point. However, this meant that #18 finished quite a distance from the starting point and it was a long-ish walk back to the car. I think the course is short enough that instead of looping 9's it would be more important to have the start and end in closer proximity.

In summary, it was a good time, with some minor annoyances.

Pros: -Lots of elevation here and the course uses it well. Most of the back 9 plays up and down a ridge.
-Many ace runs, some are flat and some are up an down the hill. The shorter down hill holes were fun for me.
-Nice signage which made for a good flow to this course. I was only wondering where to go a few times and if you just follow the wooded paths or matted down grass you will know which way to go.
-There were wooded holes and open ones, holes that turned right and left, ups and downs. What I am trying to say is that this course had variety and kept it pretty fresh.
-Good baskets and tee boxes, they didn't cut any corners here.
-Bathrooms, garbages, etc.
-This course is a little out of town so it isn't overrun by punks or too busy in general. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing when I was there.
-Not a lot of bugs for a wooded course.
-Camping nearby
-It looks to be well maintained and they keep the lines open on the wooded holes.
-With the shorter distance, it is one of the quicker 18s I have played and would be a good place for a beginner to learn mid range drives and wooded throws.
Cons: -Some of the signage had the incorrect distance on them.
-Could lose a disc in the woods, I saw a small amount of poison ivy and a few other irritable plants including stinging nettles.
-Generally, the course lacked distance, I like ace runs but most of the holes were in the 100-200 range. There were exceptions but it is short overall.
-Not a huge parking lot, tournament people may have to park in the campground.
Other Thoughts: The course design here is ok. They could have used more of the available land here and made a championship course with some longer holes. As it is, it is nice and fun. I just can't help but see the potential. I would recommend playing here but leave your big arm at home for most holes. You will be throwing a lot of up and down hill shots that aren't very long. Like other reviews said, you might not be able to play the whole course if there is an event here.

Pros: Great use of space having both open and wooded spaces. Good course to learn on but challenging enough for intermediate and advanced players. Grassy areas are mowed well in the summer.
Cons: As others have mentioned, itch weed on the hills in the late summer is a problem on three holes. Some trees need to be cleaned up from thunderstorms this spring. Would be nice for an overall course map for beginning users and if the baskets would have number plates for easy recognition.
Other Thoughts: Overall a great course. Lots of fun to play with a good variety of different shots to take.

Pros: Great DGA Mach II or III baskets. Very nice looking scenery. Love the leaf covered walking paths. Great mix of wide open areas to really let some shots sail and some tightly wooded areas to squeeze your disc through. Easy course to learn. Very peaceful and quite most of the time.
Cons: When concerts and other events are going on, you can't play about 6 of the holes due to tents, cars, etc. Holes 10-13 have crazy amounts of itch weed/itch nettles. You can't stop itching till you reach hole 16. In the summer time it's easy to lose you disc in the tall weeds. You have to memorize where your disc lands.
Other Thoughts: All 18 holes are done. Holes 11, 12, and 13 are my least favorite. Down the hill, up the hill, down the hill. Plus all the itch nettles. Still this is my favorite course to date.

Pros: Great layout has alot of elavations and a mix of left and rights along with open and tight holes! great signs and a clean quite park!
Cons: Only 9 holes installed as of now, but there is a back 9 being installed! Low canapy so learn to keep the disc low!
Other Thoughts: Can't wait for the new 9 to open up. layout looks tough!
