Pros: This is a nine hole disc golf course situated in a naturally beautiful set of rolling hills behind the community recreation center. The recreation center is very nice and has ample amenities.

As far as the intended course layout, other than a few safety issues I will go into below, I really thought that it was pretty decent. The elevation changes in the terrain are really used nicely, and for 9 holes, the course really expects a fair amount of different shots.

I thought holes 1-4 were actually very thoughtful. 4 in particular requires a precision shot off of the tee to setup the rest of the hole as it is a long, sweeping dogleg to the L.

I appreciate that someone has taken it upon themself to put trash bags out to keep the course clean. That was a nice touch. Unfortunately animals have chewed through the bag on a few and the trash is no longer nicely collected.
Cons: Waist-high weeds...and that was the fairways. It seems it has been ages since this course got some TLC. Weeds are so high that they make finding the next tee a nightmare. Hole 4's teepad had weeds so high around it that it forced me to alter my drive. Hole 7 actually had weeds that had grown up into the basket.

Along with the overgrowth of the fairways, it is clear that the rough has been growing in as well. Hole 6 is actually left without a fairway at all because of overhanging trees.

The rough in many spots is nearly inpenetrable briar patch which is really nightmarish.

There are a few safety concerns. Hole 6 throws directly over hole 5's basket, and hole 8 throws right by hole 7's basket.

Hole 1 and 8 have trees right behind the teepad which prevent a necessary runup. Hole 8 also sports a weird mando about 4 feet off of the tee, which apppears to be an attempt to keep hole 7 out of play. I looks like it may have at one time been a double mando and one of the signs was destroyed. The thing is, that type of design was not necessary, there is ample space to the right of that teepad that could have been utilized to make a better, safer tee shot.

The walk back from hole 9 to the parking lot is really long, and again was through knee/waist high weeds. Plus, the trek forces you backwards down hole 1 fairway which is a blind teeshot over a hill. That is definitely another safety concern I have here.

The gravel/cinder teepads are a bit uneven and are certainly slippery.

Baskets are single chain DISCatcher Sports which are definitely old and rusted out.
Other Thoughts: The kiosk at the parking lot had a sign up trying to judge interest for a local DG club to get established. IMO, that could be a wonderful thing for the course. If interest isn't increased, I fear this one may soon be lost to time.

Mother nature is working hard here to reclaim the land that was cleared to make a course. That is a shame. Though this course has a few flaws, I can see that it had solid ambitions and could most definitely be a lot of fun to play if it received regular upkeep.

Pros: Fairways were well maintained.
Requires a mix of shots.
Nice view of Pilot Mountain from the 2nd tee
Easy to follow layout even with minimal signage
Hole #9 has a nice tunnel that can be thrown low or over
Cons: The rough on the left of holes 2 and 3 was a brutal thicket of briers.
Lack of signage for distance, basket placement.
The baskets are the Innova portables and have seen better days.
Other Thoughts: I was a little frustrated with the lack of signage. From the first tee box, the basket is hidden over a hill. I was going to play through a second time since I knew the basket placements from the first round. I came upon a group on #3 and just went elsewhere. This is not a destination course but was a decent diversion on a recent disc golf road trip. There were some colored flags around and towards the end of the course I noticed they were numbered and looked to be part of a layout change that will add/move holes. I'll go back and check it out.

Pros: Actually a pretty cool location for a course. Does a decent job of using elevation and features to make things interesting. Definitely short so it'll make ya feel good!
Cons: Pads were gravel so not ideal. Baskets are old and single chains so I def had a few putts bounce out. Not much for signage, but the course is easy to navigate. Would love for there to be 9 more like this.
Other Thoughts: Played this on an overcast day so there was no one around. Felt like a ghost town. Anyways, it's a pretty cool course, especially for more beginner types. Updated baskets and maybe some solid tees would really help, especially if they found room for 9 more.

Pros: Nice baskets
Easy to find the next tee pad
Nice variety
Cons: No trash cans
No distance measurements
Other Thoughts: It was different to putt at baskets with a single chain set up. I would not call this a con. If my putt was on, it stayed in the basket.
