All Up On Ya 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 6, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Harrison Fitness Trail is a small, nine hole course in a large multiuse park. The disc golf section is for the most part separated from the rest of the park's activities. Rubber pads, tee signs, and baskets complete the experience.
- Mostly open shots are broken up by the rare trees on hole #'s 4, 7, and 8. #7 is a short ace run with a nice set of trees protecting the green a bit. #8 shoots through a tunnel of pine out into the open.

Cons:

- Rubber tees are slippery as a greased eel at tax time in the rain.
- Several baskets look like they've been on the wrong end of a fight or two.
- Course is all up on itself. #3 and #9 are all up in each other's business. #5 throws directly over #4's basket, watchout! Come to think of it, hole #'s 5 and 6 prolly ain't friends, either.
- Goose poop.

Other Thoughts:

- Some days discing is a glorious affair of exploration, discovery, and fun. Other days it's slogging through the rain at courses like Harrison Fitness Trail wondering why the hell you're not doing something else with your time.

A wonderful environment where children can learn and grow to fly the disc ------- - + 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Feb 19, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

The biggest pro I see from this course is that it is on school grounds, and hopefully a lot of the students get to play Disc Golf through the school.

tee signs (another course in this area has flush tee signs/markers), So having tee signs is a BIG "PRO" for this area!

plenty of parking, when one could play.

Mostly a cranker course for an advanced and above skilled player, but it has a few holes # 7 and # 8 that one has to use their skills through the trees.

rubber tee pads are better than dirt tees

Cons:

Hole # 5 BIg cranker hole, except there's a green bench directly across from the tee pad and the fitness trail (walking trail).

Crossing fairways on holes # 3 and # 9, won't come into play to often (as this isn't a destination course), but it did the only time (ironically) I played this course.

4 of the 9 holes play across the walking trail, which for the most part won't come into play 99% of the time, but ....

rubber mat tee pads.

Other Thoughts:

The Disc Golf course is behind Harrison Elementary School. to get to the course, one should enter @ the main entrance and veer right. follow access road to the back of the school. 1 st hole to the left of an Art Sculpture.

My GPS didn't recognize Husky Trail (the road in which the School is located), Luckily for me, when I asked someone @ the Lucerne Park DG course of where the Harrison Fitness Trail DGC was and after the found out I wasn't from the area. They personally escorted me to the Harrison Fitness Trail course. so a BIG Thank you from this course bagger :)

Disc Golf course is on School grounds, so please refrain from smoking and drinking!

Of the 3 local 9 hole courses I played in Warsaw Indiana this day, there was plenty of players out there playing. Hopefully this amount of play will result in an area 18 hole course-------------- - +

Worth it. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 26, 2014 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Good variety of hole types. Some left dog legs and some right. Some bombers and some tunnels.
Grounds are well kept. There really is no tall grass to speak of.
NO WATER! So no worries.

Cons:

There tend to be a lot of bugs in the woods.
Tees are short.
Walking trail can be busy, and there is at least one blind shot toward the trail.
Adjacent properties have fences, so there is a potential for lost discs.

Other Thoughts:

The pars seem to be geared toward the students. For a better score, go with par 3's.
The trail, playground, and exercise equipment give others something to do if they come with you but don't want to play. They should though, b/c this is a great course to learn on.

Great starter course in Warsaw 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 7, 2013 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

9 brand new Mach 3 baskets. Very grippy.

Great signs: distance, par, hole number, hole map, and sponsor listed.

Grippy rubber tee pads.

Variety: most holes between 180-350 feet. A few longer bomb holes 444, 483, and 579 feet. A couple blind shots around wooded area. Two wooded "thread the needle" holes. Slight elevation on a few holes. Enough trees on open holes to add to the challenge.

Easy to navigate. Tees near previous basket. Most of corse follows a paved walking trail.

Plenty of benches and trash cans throughout the course. Very clean park / course. Great atmosphere. Very peaceful.

Great for beginners / intermediate players. More of an intermediate course.

Free to play. Nearby Little Bighorn, which is much more challenging, is $9 a round, but that does include a golf cart.

Easy to get to. Stores nearby to buy food or beverages.

Cons:

Only one tee per hole. An alternate tee (varying difficulty or same distance) would boost this course to a 3. Rubber tees are a bit short.

Course could use some more trees planted. The trees on the course are younger. More trees as well as the trees when they grow will help the challenge.

Course is open from 4pm to dark on school days. From October - March, it does not leave much time to play.

Tees very close to previous holes. Fairways for holes 3 and 9 cross. If course was busy, it could be a safety hazard.

Other Thoughts:

I was impressed with this course. This course is near my lake house and it's nice to have a second nearby course to play. Not to mention it's free to play.

This is a great course to learn how to play or to improve your game. The difficulty of this course compliments Little Bighorn very well. If this is too easy, try out Little Bighorn or travel to courses near Fort Wayne or the South Bend/Elkhart area.

If this course had more trees on the open holes and alternate tee pads, this course would definitely be at least a 3 or a 3.5 out of 5.

I would recommend this course to any beginner or intermediate player in the area. This is a great course. It would frustrate beginners and challenge intermediate players. It's worth a try.

The school grounds / park grounds are very peaceful. Come check it out.
