Newly Discovered Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 11, 2014 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Possibly the best tee signs I have ever seen. They might not have the best actual map of the hole but that isn't necessary as you can see all of the baskets off the tee. What makes them so special is that they look to be brilliantly handcrafted out of beautiful wood. They have a basic hole map, hole number, distance, and there is a seperate sign with 2 sponsors per hole! How they found 2 sponsors per hole in a town of less than 1000 people is beyond me.
+Nice new baskets
+Great flow, course is easy to follow and the signs help. It loops around pretty close to the start so it is easy to play 18 or more.
+Many ace runs here. This course definitely caters to the casual family crowd that is likely to play here.
+Good variation in holes, especially with what they had to work with. Some are fairly tight and others are completely open. Hole length varies from about 150 to low 300s.
+Shouldn't lose a disc here.
+This course is probably never busy.

Cons:

-Pretty short, good variation but definitely on the short side.
-Closing holes are fairly open and weak. I found the first 5 to be more fun than the last 4. The last 4 were much more open and involved the baseball field as an obstacle.
-Natural tees- fine for now but could get worn if this course gets much use.
-Course plays a little close to the main road into the park and I threw just a few feet away from a parked car on hole 6. It was parked very near the basket.

Other Thoughts:

+My in-laws knew that I am trying to play every course in SD and happened upon this unlisted course while traveling to a greenhouse in the area. It makes me wonder how many other courses are hiding in out of the way small towns.
+I listed it as installed last year, I think it was as the baskets and signs look new but not new enough to be this year.
+Don't go out of your way to play here but if you do, you will have a little fun in the small town of Armour. If you are already in the area, you might as well stop here.
