Pros: Tee boxes for all 6 holes, and 2 also have "pro" tee's
See signs on every hole still in place
Practice Basket
Uses the land given
Cons: Not much to work with in this small park.
Other Thoughts: This is what I would expect in a small town and I do love it. No better way to get people interested in the game than putting in small courses like this.

For the most part, the holes are short enough for new players to not get frustrated with. The course goes counter clockwise around the park for the most part. Uses what trees are there and the small hill the park is on the side of.

The 2 pro tee's are interesting. The one on hole 2 does add some distance to the hole. Uphill with trees on your right and open field on your left. Hole 5's pro tee is sort of crazy. You wind up throwing around the senior center. Giant turnover shot for a right handed player. I had a good south wind and was in the circle, but behind the one tree from the basket.

I am sure if you played here locally, you would make up some of your own tee's to give you an 18 hole course, even using the practice basket.

Would I play here again - no, I bagged it already. There are other better courses not too far away in other towns. But this is a great course to get people hooked on Disc Golf. That is exactly what a small park/town course should be.

Pros: Well maintained park is always mowed, concrete tees, nice baskets, clear signs, multiple tees for skill levels, elevation change, not crowded, beginner friendly, can play 6, 12, or 18 holes depending on how much time you have, 2 holes with pro tees offer unique challenges
Cons: only 6 holes, slightly favors lhbh players
Other Thoughts: Great place to take up disc golf or to work on your game. Worth a stop off of I-44 if you want a quick disc golf break without committing to a full round. If you want to switch things up and the park isn't busy, try playing the course both forwards and backwards.

Pros: First and only course in Vinita. Short and long holes. Practice basket. Easy to find. Convenient parking. Other park amenities for kids/family.
Cons: No big hyzer bomb holes. Only 6 holes. Grass tees (for now?). Park can be somewhat busy in summer, but should really only be a potential problem on #6.
Other Thoughts: Another decent course along I-44 between Joplin and Tulsa. It is 20 min away from Claremore Lake course, which is a better 9-hole course. Also about 20 min from the Miami course, a long 18 that needs real baskets.

I think this is a solid course for what it is: a 6-hole city park course in a town that is new to disc golf. I feel the 1.5 rating is realistic. I could bump this up to a 2.5 if they poured concrete pads, moved #3's tee to the top of the hill, and added 3 more holes. I am in the area every other weekend and will definitely be playing this course once or twice a month. Both times I've played, I have seen other groups playing, which is encouraging.

Hole by hole:
1. Short hyzer (RHBH) hole. Basket guarded by mature trees. Tee is next to the road on the north side of the park, just west of the parking lot.
2. Short and long tees, uphill with a mando. Forces a dead straight or long turnover shot from the pro tee.
3. Long downhill hole. Large tree just to the right and front of the tee, which encourages an anhyzer or turnover. The tee is on the backside of the hill which, so the runup is uphill. This would be a great downhill bomb if the tee was moved to the top of the hill.
4. 300' blind shot over a small hill
5. Pro tee has a mando forcing a 90 degree dogleg right. Needs a flick or strong anhyzer for a righty. Short tee is straightforward.
6. Short hole with a dead straight line and a slight hyzer line. Watch for kids playing near this hole.
