Pros:
9 hole course that wraps its way around the Hustisford schools, along Hwy 60.
Easy navigation, with the course basically winding around the edges of the playgrounds for the schools, with rough almost always on the right hand side of the fairways.
Nice tee signs, with Rec Par, Pro Par, distance, and hole number. Nothing fancy, but they get the job done. One tee position per hole.
Nice Discatcher baskets, all in good repair, and caught quite well. Height were all good. One position per hole.
There's not a ton of mystery to this course, but it does provide a little bit of distance on some holes, and at least has distance variety. There is also the smallest amount of elevation in play. The few trees on the property were used about as well as they could have been.
Cons:
Natural tee pads are usually a bummer, and during the summer, the lawn probably doesn't get mowed quite as often as it would during the school year. With a few longer holes, your run up can be affected.
Not a ton of obstacles here, outside of the heavy rough on the right side of nearly every hole. There's usually plenty of space, however, but the rough is just that...ROUGH. Definitely a chance to lose an errant shot.
Hole 9 ends pretty far from the parking lot. It's a decent hike back, for sure.
Other Thoughts:
All in all, this is a pretty solid course for being on a school ground like it is. A good place to range shots, and you need to be just precise enough to not flip discs over into the shule. Sprinkle in a few ace runs, and there's definitely worse things in the world.
If you're here, throw a few shots, although it's certainly not anything to go out of your way for (unless you MUST bag every course like me).
