Where Eagles Dare
1 Helpful / 2 Not
Pros: Very active local club, great about finding lost discs and returning them. Tons of parking, trash and bathrooms by 9th tee. Good signage directing you to the next tee pad. Each tee sign has a medallion on it which tells you which position the basket is in, and a map of the hole. A few holes have multiple tee pads, which is great for new players or kids. Well laid out, finishes at parking lot.
Cons: Wide open in most areas. Very little shade. Desert like terrain. Gets hot quick. A few holes are a little confusing, but locals are helpful.
Other Thoughts: Bring lots of water. Might be too much for older dogs to handle on a really hot day.

Great open course with some well designed holes
5 Helpful / 0 Not
Pros: -Fun, open, right off 70 and easy to get to.
-Easy to navigate with maps and bulletin board by hole 1
-2 practice baskets
-Beautiful mountain views
-River and creeks come into play, other roped OB (with DZ's). -This adds a good challenge and variation to the course
-Sweet spray painted blue discatcher baskets
-Some long bomber holes and also some tight treed holes, making a good balance of shots.
-Plays well for all styles of shots. Can't just hyzer everything.
-Some changes in elevation but the course sits in the river valley so not too much.
-Makes you use many different discs, nice variation in holes.
-Cool hanging basket hole with a death putt.
-Easy but fun elevated basket hole.
-Hole 18 is a sweet island shot.
Cons: -Tall grass and bushes eat discs, the river can get hungry for plastic too if you aren't careful.
-Some of the open straight holes can be a little boring.
-Bugs can get bad in summer.
-Old school discatcher baskets with shallow cages, I need to learn to put better but I felt like I had more chain outs than normal.
-Wind city, USA.
Other Thoughts: This course is well-maintained by Flying Eagle Disc Society and is very fun. The wide variety of shots and beautiful views make this a place you must visit if you are on your way through. The city of Eagle and the surrounding areas have a lot to offer. I have made several climbing/camping trips to the area and this course is one of the reasons I keep coming back. There are several great camping possibilities near by. Plus the Eagle river that runs through the course is great for fishing and rafting.

Pros: very easy to navigate with the signs that are very discriptive. The course was well groomed and discs were easy to find even if you landed in an out of bounds area. Challeging course with short holes and long holes. Amature and professional holes availabe. Awesome tee pads!
Cons: watxh the weather and make sure you bring plenty of water or dress very warm for cold conditions.

New and improved

Pros: Easy to navigate, good signage, concrete pads, convenient to I-70, practice baskets, and driving net, ample parking.
Cons: Hard to point out "cons" here, but things that keep it from 5 stars are the relative flatness. There is some great elevation changes on a few holes, just not as much as some of the premier courses of Colorado.
Other Thoughts: The transformation of this course was a pleasure to be a part of while I lived there, and it is amazing to see the continued improvement since I've been gone. The hard work by the FEDS has turned course into a real gem.

Pros: Great variety of shots. Concrete pads. Multiple pin placements.Beautiful setting.
Cons: Not necessarily a "con" but I'd like to see the baskets updated...but then again those vintage baskets bring up some nostalgia :)
Other Thoughts: The tight o.b's, mixed with a variety of basket locations, make this course a very fun challenge. I can't imagine driving through the Eagle area without stopping by for a round.

Pros: Some cool shots, a little bit of elevation change, beautiful scenery. Good use of terrain.
Cons: Some really open shots (**yawn**). A ton of gopher holes.
Other Thoughts: This course is really easy to navigate once you figure out where the new hole 1 is. You have to be aware of regular park goers walking their dogs. The river comes into play on some of the holes making those holes pretty interesting. It's a nice course and great for beginners and Pros alike.

Pros: >Well laid out course for what they have to work with
>Easy to navigate with good info on tee signs
>elevation changes used well for many of the holes
>Concrete tee pads
>Minimal pedestrian traffic when playing casual
Cons: >Short open shots
>Majority of course is open
>not a lot of skill needed to score well
Other Thoughts: Good course for amateur players and for practice, although if the wind is up and played with the OB's it can get challenging. For a tournament course for pros it can be fun because 17 of the 18 holes can be deuced.

Hole in the Sky Course Review

Pros: All the hardware is good. The tees are nice, the baskets are good and the tee signs are great. This course has a very good presentation. There is a variety of shots demanded throughout the course. It is fun to play and easy to follow.
Cons: It is a pretty easy course and many of the shots are very open. Some of the OB plays too close to some of the holes as well.
